Hersh also said today that what he heard was "gossip" and also why the fuck would anyone like Seymour Hersh, if they actually had info on this, not be all over it? Dnc murders staffer to cover up leak is pretty much guaranteed a pulitzer.

Etiolate, are you saying that the democratic party is blaming Russia/pushing for sanctions that set back diplomacy with the EU because they wanted to murder Seth Rich?

Do you believe the Seth Rich murder was so the general public doesn't think the DNC had any bias for Clinton over Sanders?

And I'm also wondering if you believe that the Trump Jr meeting was organized by them to make it look like Trump is involved?  Which of course had that moment where Trump himself dictated the excuse of it being about adoptions when it wasn't, according to emails that Trump Jr released.

And this is all a plan to just show that there's no favoritism in the party?

NPR was likely handed this story with a note on what it was about and wrote that story. They were given the story after all. That doesn't require any conspiracy or secrecy. It's just bias and convenience.

They buried the Seymour Hersh part, which is a big story on its own. FWIW, they don't believe Rich was killed because of this. Just simply that Rich was the source for Wikileaks. i have to repeat that every time, because people go to murder conspiracy as the response.

What did they bury about the Seymour Hersh part?

This is a suit that is being presented from Rod Wheeler's accounting of the facts. The conversations that mention Hersh appear to be conversations Wheeler had with Butowsky recounting the conversations he had with Hersh, where Hersh allegedly said to Butowsky, amongst other things, this:

Quote
Mr. Hersh had not seen the report himself,

Quote
Mr. Hersh cautioned Butowsky that the information was not necessarily true, and that, even if true, it did not preclude the possibility that the Russians also hacked the DNC.

Quote

BUTOWSKY PLANS TO EXTORT SY HERSH IN AN EFFORT TO “SAVE” THE MAY 16, 2017 STORY
 103.

During a May 19, 2017 telephone call between Butowsky and Mr. Wheeler, Butowsky revealed his plan to extort Sy Hersh in an effort to save the May 16, 2017 Seth Rich story. Specifically, Butowsky stated: “What I’m really good at is going on the offensive, okay. Once we assess the situation, so I’ve got a friend of mine from high school that does a lot of crises management stuff but we both think a lot alike. I sent him the Sy Hersh redacted where it’s just his voice. He is going to record five seconds of Sy’s voice. He’s emailing Sy. That email is going to contain that five seconds and, he’s going to say, you have three hours to write back who at the FBI you spoke to, with his name, that read you the Seth Rich report. If you don’t give us that in three hours, a full recording of everything we have will be at every news agency tonight with your name and  phone number on it. If you give it to us, you will never hear from us again.

When Hersh was asked about these conversations he described the discussions as gossip he heard.

And while I think Wheeler's credibility should be in doubt until he validates his claims further, and I tried telling you that months ago when you refused to acknowledge the inconsistencies. In this suit they claim to have statements by the head of the Seth Rich case that the FBI has never been in possession of the laptop(along with having zero evidence that corroborates the conspiracy). Which in isolation I would be skeptical of, except for the fact that aligns with what I linked for you months ago. Which was that NBC, The Washington Post, several other outlets, and now today NPR has corroborated with people familiar with the case and/or at the FBI, that the FBI is not involved in this case. Which once again further strains the credibility of this phantom single FBI source you continue to hang your hat on.

So to simplify your position, the FBI source that apparently Wheeler and Butowsyi have no access to, and Hersh has said was gossip talk, is who you are now hinging your consideration of legitimacy for this conspiracy on. Along with vague Julian Assange tweets after the Seth Rich conspiracy gained some steam.

The NPR article quoted Hersh as calling it gossip and they very odd line of ""[Butowsky] took two and two and made 45 out of it.".

An audio tape of Hersh going over the entire scenario and story is not gossip. I don't know why he's not reporting it. Perhaps he wants to dig deeper, get a second source? I don't know. However, it's not concocted by the Trump White House and friends as the NPR article infers and the lawsuit claims. Why he would call it gossip? Probably didn't know the tape existed.

The timing of these stories betray an element of people knowing that this would drop. I am not sure how long the reporter Fairbanks was sitting on these tapes, but obviously someone knew the lawsuit or something like it would come and some source would get to break it. The tapes dropped right after, blowing holes in the article and suit.

See one of the tricks I use on you guys is giving you a sizable bit of information that requires time to read, watch or hear, and then time to process. If you guys reply quickly (as you always do), then I know you aren't being honest in your response.

So why share that I pull this trick on you? Because I feel we're past the point of testing your honesty. That's been answered. We're now getting into stuff that is a bit more real.

You mean the audio tape thats unverified that you posted from bigleaguepolitics.com?

 :neogaf

I said it when you jumped to believing the unverified 4chan rumors about the CNN wrestling GIF being a 15 year old, you really need to work on where and how you apply your skepticism. Because whatever process you have right now is utter shit.

Listen to yourself, you have dug so deep you are clinging to a completely illogical conspiracy that Seymour Hersh(the guy that wrote a 10,000 page piece about the Obama administration potentially misleading on the aftermath of Bin-Laden's death) is sitting on a smoking gun about Seth Rich and a potential DNC cover up....To continue propping up your larger conspiracy. To the point you have wasted pages and hours of your day trying to defend it and deflect that it is everyone else that is being intellectually dishonest.

In the real fake conspiracy news, the swamp hero Robert Mueller has hired another hack radical left-wing Hillary donor that worked for Obama to expand the fake news witch-hunt into Donald Trump:

Quote
NEW YORK (Reuters) - A former U.S. Justice Department official has become the latest lawyer to join special counsel Robert Mueller's team investigating Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election, a spokesman for the team confirmed.

Greg Andres started on Tuesday, becoming the 16th lawyer on the team, said Josh Stueve, a spokesman for the special counsel.

Most recently a white-collar criminal defense lawyer with New York law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, Andres, 50, served at the Justice Department from 2010 to 2012. He was deputy assistant attorney general in the criminal division, where he oversaw the fraud unit and managed the program that targeted illegal foreign bribery.

WSJ: Can I ask on that? I mean, are you confident? When you say the Democrats are obstructionists, and obviously they’re looking ahead to the midterms next year, it doesn’t seem like politically for Democrats there’s a lot of incentive, even on a bipartisan thing like infrastructure, that might be popular – (inaudible). How tough a road is it going to be? In any case it’s hard –

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Well, they tried – they tried it with me. She spent hundreds of millions of dollars on negative ads. She didn’t do a positive ad, virtually. And she lost easily, you know, 306 to 223 I think, right – 223, something like that. That’s a lot. And she – they tried it.

I mean, honestly, they – the ads were coming at me. Hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of negative ads. And when people went into the voter booth, they didn’t know what she stood for. I always said that. I said if I can take this onslaught personally, it’s going to be a great thing because nobody knew what she stood for. So now they’re trying to change their message a little bit, you know. I mean, it’s – it’s one of those things, but now they’re trying to change their message and we’ll see what happens.

But I think that we’re doing very well. Every indication is that in every one of our swing states we’re substantially up, like Ohio. Tonight I’m going to Ohio – Youngstown, Ohio – and we’ll be up – we’re way up. You know, I won the state by nine or 10 or something, by nine or 10 points, without any governor support, OK? So you have the governor of Ohio not supporting you and you win by almost 10 points, which is pretty good because Ohio’s not – if you remember, you guys were always saying you have to win Ohio, right? There is –

He's never gonna stop talking about the electoral votes and Hilary.

"Trump and the GOP don't have anything against immigrants who do things the right way, they're only against illegal immigrants!!"

"Their bill would do three things: First, limit the number of foreign nationals who are able to get green cards to reunite with their families already in the U.S. — currently the largest category of legal immigrants; second, cut the number of refugees in half; third, eliminate the diversity visa lottery — a program that gives visas to countries with low rates of immigration to the United States.

"Cotton says the number of green cards awarded each year — about a million — is excessive.

" 'In one year, this would reduce it to around 600,000,' Cotton says. 'Over the span of the 10-year window it would fall to about 500,000.' "

NEW YORK (AP) -- Former FBI Director James Comey has a book deal.

Flatiron Books told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Comey is writing a book about leadership and decision making that will draw upon his career in government. Comey will write about experiences that made him the FBI's best-known and most controversial FBI head in recent times, from his handling of the bureau's probe into Hillary Clinton's private email server to allegations of ties between Russia and Donald Trump's presidential campaign.
Quote
According to Flatiron, Comey will cite "examples from some of the highest-stakes situations in the past two decades of American government" and "share yet-unheard anecdotes from his long and distinguished career."

The book is currently untitled and scheduled for publication next spring.
hopefully it will include a chapter on Hillary's new memoir that he has not read but he just wants everyone to know that he hasn't before there's wild speculation

I dunno why Trump thinks is a good idea to say that Peña Nieto is okay with his immigration policies when he is considered weak because he is trying to still be diplomatic with Trump (and having a member of his cabinet in bed with Jared already) , his political adversaries are mostly anti Trump people.

Another casualty at the White House:

Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the senior intelligence director for the White House’s National Security Council, was fired Wednesday.

A White House official confirmed that Cohen-Watnick “left the National Security Council” at National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster’s behest.

“He has determined that, at this time, a different set of experiences is best-suited to carrying that work forward,” the official said in a statement. “General McMaster is confident that Ezra will make many further significant contributions to national security in another position in the administration.”

Cohen-Watnick, dubbed “the man McMaster couldn’t fire,” was a protégé of ousted National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and ally of  White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.

Quote from: Ayn Rand
Because libertarians are a monstrous, disgusting bunch of people: they plagiarize my ideas when that fits their purpose, and denounce me in a more vicious manner than any communist publication when that fits their purpose. They’re lower than any pragmatists, and what they hold against Objectivism is morality. They want an amoral political program.

Please don’t tell me they’re pursuing my goals. I have not asked for, nor do I accept, the help of intellectual cranks. I want philosophically educated people: those who understand ideas, care about ideas, and spread the right ideas. That’s how my philosophy will spread, just as philosophy has throughout history: by means of people who understand ideas and teach them to others. Further, it should be clear that I reject the filthy slogan “The end justifies the means.” That was originated by the Jesuits, and accepted enthusiastically by the Communists and the Nazis. The end does not justify the means; you cannot achieve anything good by evil means. Finally, libertarians aren’t worthy of being the means to any end, let alone the end of spreading Objectivism.
Quote from: Ayn Rand
They’re not defenders of capitalism. They’re a group of publicity seekers who rush into politics prematurely, because they allegedly want to educate people through a political campaign, which can’t be done. Further, their leadership consists of men of every persuasion, from religious conservatives to anarchists. Most of them are my enemies: they spend their time denouncing me, while plagiarizing my ideas. Now it’s a bad sign for an allegedly pro-capitalist party to start by stealing ideas.

I heard that Kelly was to Bannon but it feels that is no coincidental that they are starting to target the nutcases after Kelly wanted to impose order. Maybe that's why they are focusing now to move to inmigration as it seems the only point were generals and Bannon and his goonies agree.

Objectivism is a trash totalitarian cult of personality with a dictated violent "correct thought."

Libertarianism/anarchism is a trash ideological philosophy that none of them can agree on outside the NAP.

I'd personally be a bit concerned if too many anarchists started agreeing on things.

I'm still not clear on WHY Hillary wanted to kill Seth Rich.

Because he was going to reveal to the world that Donna Brazille was going to ask her a question about the water in Flint, MI? (you know, a national ongoing months long crisis)?

Neither is Jack.

This is horseshit. I never start these arguments. I'm always responding.

So... stop responding, dear? Maybe if you let it go, you'd drop your reputation?

To keep the false narrative that Russia hacked teh emails to make excuses for her failed campaign. Sad.

Wapo backpat, but this is hilarious:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/you-cannot-say-that-to-the-press-trump-urged-mexican-president-to-end-his-public-defiance-on-border-wall-transcript-reveals/2017/08/03/0c2c0a4e-7610-11e7-8f39-eeb7d3a2d304_story.html?tid=ss_tw&utm_term=.a10bf5bbc684

Quote
“On the wall, you and I both have a political problem,” Trump said. “My people stand up and say, ‘Mexico will pay for the wall,’ and your people probably say something in a similar but slightly different language.”

Trump seemed to acknowledge that his threats to make Mexico pay had left him cornered politically. “I have to have Mexico pay for the wall — I have to,” he said. “I have been talking about it for a two-year period.”

To solve that problem, Trump pressured Peña Nieto to suppress the issue. When pressed on who would pay for the wall, “We should both say, ‘We will work it out.’ It will work out in the formula somehow,” Trump said. “As opposed to you saying, ‘We will not pay,’ and me saying, ‘We will not pay.’ ”

Peña Nieto resisted, saying that Trump’s repeated threats had placed “a very big mark on our back, Mr. President.” He warned that “my position has been and will continue to be very firm, saying that Mexico cannot pay for the wall.”

"Stop publicly saying you won't pay for the wall. It's bad for me!"

Wow at that Turnbull transcript. It just keeps going down a hole. It really is a snapshot of his "deal making" ability.

TRUMP
We are like a dumping ground for the rest of the world. I have been here for a period of time, I just want this to stop. I look so foolish doing this. It [sic] know it is good for you but it is bad for me. It is horrible for me. This is what I am trying to stop. I do not want to have more San Bernardino’s or World Trade Centers. I could name 30 others, but I do not have enough time.

TURNBULL
These guys are not in that league. They are economic refugees.

TRUMP
Okay, good. Can Australia give me a guarantee that if we have any problems – you know that is what they said about the Boston bombers. They said they were wonderful young men.

TURNBULL
They were Russians. They were not from any of these countries.

TRUMP
They were from wherever they were.

You need to be a pretty awful politician when you can't bully Peña Nieto while being the president of the U.S.
