As an addendum, Tasty, if Kavanaugh gets confirmed then I have reason to let guns backslide in my order of priorities. Kavanaugh is a friend of firearms and extra backing in the supreme court helps hold how I feel about the issue at least for another generation. He's also against overturning Roe v Wade, which is good because I'm completely against making abortion illegal. Even if liberal states decide to ban "assault weapons" we can still take it to the supreme court and maybe get a win. So I consider this a win for my interests and have less reason to fight for it, allowing me to make political concessions when necessary. And since Kavanaugh is the most moderate Democrats will get as a justice pick, they *will* confirm him despite the political fuckery.
