that was 2012, they went through almost everyone as a not-Romney :lol

(Image removed from quote.)

The 2012 GOP primary was quite the rollercoaster ride, as I recall. One person [not Romney] would briefly rise to the top based on some comment they said or whatever and suddenly the conservative press would latch on to them as the party savior, only for the bright lights to expose the fact that they were actually terrible. Also, I think Cain had some claims made against him regarding sexual impropriety. And Bachmann was just insane.

Even Rick Perry was briefly at the top, before the infamous GOP debate where he was exposed as a dumb moron man.

Trump is such a goddamned idiot.

THIS IS A NATIONAL EMERGENCY! ... but I'm not in a hurry to announce it or anything. I mean, I could do it. If I wanted to. But, we'll see. We'll see what happens. I can totally wait.

THEN NO ONE WILL BELIEVE IT'S AN EMERGENCY YOU FUCKING MORON

He's coming to terms in his own way that once he declares a national emergency, Trump is admitting he's a terrible negotiator. Art of the Deal man doesn't want to take that hit to the ego just yet, that's why he's hedging.

It's actually worse than that: Energy was the department that he couldn't remember when naming the ones he'd close.

Trump doesn’t really come to terms with anything imo.

Anyways, from my reading, his big speech was basically the set up to announce a national emergency but he was talked down out of it in the 11th hour. Which makes sense as to why in the days preceding they were sending out all these stalking horses.

Like invading Venezuela or firing Rosenstein, if Trump had his way I suspect it would of already happened but his legal and political team still seem somewhat capable of temporarily talking him out of his worst impulses. In the case of Venezuella he moves onto the next shiny object, in this case I think he ultimately does it with GOP encouragement. We’ll see.

I think they’re worried that the national emergency declaration will end up roiling markets and end up getting the Republican senate to vote against it. But it’s still probably his best option

I'm sure the favorite food of athletes is burger king and McDonalds  :lol

This tsa thing is what’s going to actually make the shutdown boil over.
Even if you got one to say live on air: "I care that I'm not getting paid!"
Trump would still insist that government workers prefer the wall over payment.

At this point the GOP prefers the Emergeny because that's an 'easy' way to end the shutdown.
But Trump is doubling down as always on getting the Democrats to sign for the wall.

Google them and you can see without even clicking
1) Publically funded
2) takes Ontario Health Insurance plan (evil socialized medicine)
3) one of the best hernia hospitals in the world.
4) takes walk ins

Also, if you ever have American non surgery to treat something not life threatening, multiple month waits are very common. I know multiple people who have had knee replacements who were on crutches for well over a month before getting in for the procedure. And oftentimes its a 3-6 week wait to even get in to see the specialist.
