why won't any of them bring up the tax question is crazy. America spends poorly on many areas. We spend how many billions on the war machine? We just had a shutdown that cost the US economy $11 billion dollars. Why can't we take funds from the war machine and put it in to healthcare? Shouldn't even need to go there on the subject of M4A etc. The country already spends way more per capita than other rich countries on health care (with worse results). Single payer would be shifting the burden from premiums and out-of-pocket costs to taxes, which is why the various attacks about the X-trillion dollar cost of M4A are typically pretty disingenuous.

This speech by Buittigieg about gun violence is also a reason why medicare for all is needed. One of the biggest needs at schools is mental health and the funds to get it. Usually you apply though medical funds. Guess what if schools suddenly had funding to provide mental health, or fuck, just nurses on campus.
