Yes.. the independents who voted for the anti-Establishment candidate last time are going to come out in droves for the bumbling idiot career Dem?
The independents who voted for trump won't hesitate to vote for Biden simply because he's a bumbling idiot--because it didn't stop them from voting for a bigger one. Will they not vote for him because he's a blustering idiot who is also a career Dem? That's a different argument.
"Anti-Establishment" is largely an empty buzzword. Regardless, the vast majority won't, but he generally polls well with independents (not as well as before). He only needs to turn a few.
I'm not stanning for Biden. I just don't see how being a "blustering idiot" will hurt him against Trump in the general. I don't. If Democrats stay home, it will be because of his policies.
I think the argument is Biden is basically Hillary with a hang down, except he introduced to the US the beauty of the 2005 bankruptcy bill that has 40% of Americans in Student Loan debt slavery that they can never get out of, has been advocating for reducing Social Security for 40 years, was a segregationist, and has dementia. Oh, and is challenging an incumbent President.
Sure, Trump is susceptible to lose to ANYONE, but Biden has a ton of baggage that will be ripe for Trump to exploit + can barely string 10 words together without calling a voter fat, challenging him to a push up contest, or telling him to vote for the other guy.
