there are a plethora of reasons but from the way i see it, it basically boils down to the the younger generation not being able to cope with anxiety so they retreat to using their mobile devices and electronics in solitude. though it appears that this no longer something that is exclusive to millenials anymore

Definitely not 1 in 1000. Probably more like 1 in 3-4 if dates go well in my experience. Most of the time if the other person wants to jump your bones, they're probably excited to do it by the first date, but for various reasons they might want to wait until date 2 or 3 (not to end up with just a one night stand, not to come off as desperate, etc...) and then about 1/3rd of the time the other people doesn't give a fuck and then you end up fucking in my experience.

I usually try not to sleep with people on the first date for those kind of reasons (like to not rush things) but if the other person pushes things forward on the first date I have no problem with it.
