GAF as a forum, has been a target for years from certain corners of the internet. This is unprecedented. Never before in history has there been an attempt to discredit someone in a position of real power using disinformation.

Add to this that it’s very easy to just say things in the internet. That’s why it’s of utmost importance to wait quietly and without action until the accused acknowledges their supposed faults, rather than pressure them to do so in any public fashion.

Only because he didn't brag about it on NeoGAF (IMO). I've seen the screenshot, it was posted on Opa Ages (or the Bore?), which is a lot easier to deny or call fake, versus the ass grabbing incident which caused some serious waves even at the time, and showed how he will just scrub the evidence when he can't justify his shitty behaviour.

I think gamergate saw the successful attack on Naughty Gods and have organized this as part of covering up The Last Night and A Hat in Time by turning the media's focus onto an even bigger name in the industry, someone who they can actually straight up accuse unjustly with no supporting evidence by name. And there's a whole mob of banned ex-gaffers who will fan the flames because they're unsightly garbage who are obsessed with bringing down the only bastion of rational thought left outside of Verrit.com.
