The tribalism is bad on Era, especially in the past 30-40 days. I've posted my issues about redundant threads in the past here, too, and gotten some thread locks/warnings, so I guess I'm not going about it in the best way.

The constant drudging for any excuse to post "Yay, Switch!" over the most mundane reasons is cringe inducing and makes Era a bit less inviting. It's bleeding into the craziest, unprovoked Sony bashing I've seen, too.

It's one thing to talk constructively about something like cross play, but my god... it's getting stupid.

The issue i have with this is that every response is now tactical. People arent just celebrating anymore. No, its clearly intended for viewership, clicks, more sales for their favourite franchises. Sorry if this is an overly pessismistic view but literally every celebratory thread is a jizz party of "well deserved" posts like that legitimizes the sales.

Last weekend I was at my friends house for a bbq.

The friend has two dogs. A pit bull and a labrador.

When I got there, the pitbull was excited to see me.  She spent a long time with me and was sweet.

The labrador ignored me.  I tried to get her attention and she didn't come at all.

Later on I got a steak.  The labrador spent the entire time I was eating it sitting right in front of me.  Occasionally she would put her nose on my lap near the plate, which I also had on my lap.   She kept her mouth on my leg and I could feel the drool dripping onto my leg.

I never gave that dog meat.  Instead, towards the end I told the lab to go away.  I then called the pitbull and gave her some meat.  Because the lab didn't care about me until it wanted food.  But the pit bull loved me unconditionally.

Also, it’s not good to keep allowing shitty posters to continue their bad faith arguments. There is a reason why people would get warned or banned elsewhere, because the discussion is meaningless when you have the same posters over and over again asking questions or concern trolling. They use the cover of polite discussion to advocate horrible ideas and say some veiled racist/sexist shit, then bait minority posters to lash out, who then proceeds to get banned by mods for being impolite and uncivil. And thus women and people of color here get the signal that this is not a community for them, since they are punished for existing.

So no, loose rules and more acceptance of bad faith posters who continuously stir up shit is not a good thing and harms the minority groups who post on this forum.

At this point, any poster who still the approaches this topic as if Price's firing occurred in a vacuum is a troll or is implicitly aligning themselves with misogynist hate mobs.

If you're more concerned with a woman's tweets than (1) the emboldening a hate mob, (2) the chilling effect on other game developers who are now afraid, (3) the labor issues of how companies can just fire their workers without due process, then you might as well be (knowingly) assisting a misogynist hate mob and the unchallenged power of companies over their workers.
