That's a really fitting reference. The impression I get from the RE thread is more as if Neeson had some crazy slip up or a journalist dug up the story.

I don't know if its from people whose sole exposure to personal anecdotes is via TMZ sanitised and script doctored soundbites or what, but I just don't get how people are treating it like it was an "impromptu" anecdote told on a late night talk show that had been vetted by a couple of researchers for optimal entertainment per minute pre-recording, or like it was an apology tour for some shit that he got caught out doing and is doing a damage control tour for, with their saying things like "oh, okay, prove you're sorry by throwing some money at some tangentially related charity"

There are a lot of genuinely pathetic threads on RE, but the older women giving young men compliments thread might be the most pathetic one I've seen. All these people that feel threatened by old ladies, with just as many if not more posts being dudes talking about how ugly/hard up for compliments/lonely they are that even old ladies won't compliment them and how sad it makes them, and still more dudes that have such low self esteem they can't believe anyone would ever compliment them.
