It’s been a long standing tradition that folks can make popcorn.gif type posts. Why do the moderators get to make these blanket decisions and not seek commentary from the actual community first? Maybe we like having these types of posts and it’s part of the personality of the message board? Moderators also shouldn’t be allowed to just change the way threads are moderated without, I don’t know, letting the community know? I see nothing under announcements that the rules have changed. How about a warning that these types of posts are no longer being tolerated? Or, actually ask the community on how they feel about making such a huge change to how we behave on this forum? Is this just the act of one rogue moderator or did the moderating team decide these types of posts are a no-go? How about a little transparency when these decisions are made?

I don’t understand how some decisions are made around here and I think the community is owed a little leeway before all these ban hammers are given out. It’s not like we haven’t had a million threads where this type of behavior was seen as ok. Without any notification, transparency, or community input, the rules just change? How is this ok?

Hi all,

I'm only maybe 2 hours into the DQ11 demo. It's not great IMHO, but it's not horrible either. I want to keep trying it before I decide to buy or not buy it.

However, the heavy-handed religious aspects of the game concern me a bit. Do they maybe tone it down a bit later? The fact you can only save the game by confessing to a priest is downright disturbing, and it seems every other villager I talk to is telling me to pray. Uhm, no ty, I'd rather use my wit, intelligence, and hard work to solve problems, not engaging in childish wishful thinking, i.e., prayer.

Of course it's just a game, and I'm not raging, but I personally (yes, just my opinion) find the very idea of religion odious and medieval, and would rather not play a game where it's in my face 24/7.

For those who've played it more, do these religious tropes persist throughout the game?

Yes. I'm Latinx and Arabic. When I went to other countries, it was an eye opening experience. I traveled around East and South East Asia. In the airport in Seoul everyone was very kind. I went to take off my belt and the security lady told me that wasn't necessary. Walked right past the metal detector and that was it, quick and fast. Cambodia was the same way. In Japan, I actually got stopped by their version of the TSA because I came out of a different exit from everyone else (I was lost). The guy searched my bag but was so kind about it. He even folded my clothes nice and neat when putting them back and organized it better than it was. He struck a conversation with me.

Upon coming back to the United States, everyone was very rude to me. After getting past customs I get pulled over by a TSA agent. I was a bit confused as I wasn't sure if I was finished with the process of returning back to the States to go to departures. The TSA agent asks to see my passport. He begins asking all of these questions such as what was my ethnic background, where did my parents meet, if I was Muslim, etc. He then let me go. After he left, it hit me that I was already done with the customs process, and he was just being an asshole.

Basically if you're of a Christian origin (my family have always been atheists though), you become a target in Turkey. Did anyone from ERA attend? Was it at least comparable to Blizzcon style events? Given SC has an accurate to-scale universe, how will minefields function when approach points and distances are near infinite? Are they purely for laying around space stations? Is an 8 person ship with a passive defense system viable in a game which currently has 50-player servers?

In answer to your questions, the ship isn't in the game yet, mines aren't in the game yet, the minelaying mechanic isn't in the game yet, and multicrew gameplay isn't in the game yet. They're just selling concept art and dreams at this point.
