The Battle of Vienna has been a staple in Euro far right ideologies for a while.
:yeshrug

Has it? I would be surprised if people on the far right spectrum here even know it ever took place.

edit: Understandably the thing most far righters here are preoccupied with is trying to whitewash the third Reich.

This is not even about me buying Shenmue 3, it just hurts to see it get involved in this shit just because SEGA was too fucking dumb to capitalize on that clear E3 hype.

Yeah, this is something I had a passing interest some years ago and half the results if not more you'll fish on a search engine are gonna be some nationalist blog or drivel. It serves the same purpose as the image of Charles Martel stopping the Muslims in Poitiers of an historical event being repackaged as a myth for modern day nationalist purposes.

I guess this varies between countries, because as I said in my edit, 95% of stuff extreme right wingers do here is concerned with the third Reich. Glorifying the Wehrmacht and absolving it of any crimes is the most popular historical revisionism.

Oh yeah it's not really "mainstream" or a big talking point of far right politician but it's just one of those things you'll probably quickly come through if you start diving a little into it. It's not really a shock to see one of those assholes mentioning it.

Edit : I checked and of course Breivik also mentioned it.

I think it's not up to the public, in the same way it's not up to the public to fight other domestic threats. These are not angry forum posters, these are criminal groups. It's not about developing strategies to defeat incels or regressive nerds in online debates, it's about jailing people before they hurt others.

The authorities absolutely need to make this a priority.

Here’s the thing. I am no longer interested in whether or not Pewdiepie is a good person or whether or not he means the things he says, whether or not he’s just being an edgelord for “teh lulz” and to pander to his audience, I don’t give a shit about any of that anymore. As much as Pewdiepie might like, this isn’t about him as much as it is about his inability.

When you have a platform that’s 80 million people big, you have a responsibility as to how you exercise it. 80 million people is more people than the population of most countries on the planet! You need to understand that your intent doesn’t matter and be cognizant of just how much what you say or do can be construed in ugly directions by someone among those 80 million either way. In ordinary circumstances, someone will make mistakes, of course they will, but they will learn from those mistakes and become better. Pewdiepie, whether out of intention or “just a mistake”, has not done that. He has repeatedly stoked a certain kind of audience and rhetoric, and either he’s doing this on purpose or he’s doing this because he has no fucking idea about just how big is audience and his reach is, just how much of an influence he can have on the world. In either case, that makes him dangerous- you won’t hand a gun to a person with psychopathic tendencies, but you also won’t hand it to someone who doesn’t know how to use one. It’s dangerous in either case.

Quote
I'm bothered by how era still hasn't changed this title to properly refer to it as a terrorist attack.

Quote
Also, fuck Kanye West. The amount of harm he’s probably caused by giving Candace Owens a platform is fucked. He’s an irredeemable terrorist enabler as well.

Enough of these shitty games. At this point, any signal boosting of THQ is also signal boosting the events that transpire and the site associated with it. Nah, I already have to live with the fact that THQ normalized a site that is linked to child porn and likely increased the chance of more people getting access to the sick media of me getting raped. This here, they gave 8chan more traffic, more visibility, so I will not be surprised if there's more people that stuck around after the AMA and are becoming radicalized as we speak. That's the consequences that this little shit show caused, and they need to be punished for it.

All I ask for is the heads of those responsible for the AMA served to me on a platter with a side of fries and coleslaw, and by that I mean, I just want those responsible fired and shunned from this industry. I already have to live with the reality that there is child pornography of me floating around the dark net, now I have to live with the reality that a video game company signal boosted a site that's known to link child porn. What I'm asking for is for the company to take some damn responsibility, that's it. Not a half- hearted apology, not a vague promise of an investigation, not putting this under a run, but actual steps to fixing this shit.

DigitalOp gets into the library to let us know WHAT REALLY MATTERS:
Quote
It's absolutely incredible that Fuckhead YouTubers can joke about White Supremacy and Antisemitism, AltRight talk heads can virtually spout hate speech about non white demo groups.....

And all this rhetoric and actions can never be tied to inciting and inspiring the violence of the people who follow and listen to them.....

For some magically reason, they have to be separated with no connection whatsoever....

But Jussie Smollett lies about a hate crime and somehow his personal actions have to "blanket and stain the entire black and gay community".....

Whiteness will do a 720 backflip to never hold itself accountable. White People can never do anything wrong. It's everyone else who is causing so much hatred and division. Clearly.
