I don't like systems that disenfranchise the uneducated and hopeful. I especially don't like it when those systems are sold to the uneducated as the "smart" option. Especially not when it's also a great tax on the environment. Everything about BTC is awful.

Stocks and foreign exchange work on the hope that the people you're investing in are creating value. But you're not investing in anyone when you buy into BTC. You're investing into the system itself. BTC cannot create any value besides pure speculation, because it will never be usable as a stable currency. Almost every single legitimate storefront that tried BTC has backed out of doing so.

Y'all are going to a casino, buying a bunch of chips, playing your hand at one of the tables, and thinking that value is created just because you personally came out ahead with the system you have. Uh, newsflash: no. That money came from everyone else who bought in and brought their chips to the table and is walking away with less.

And yet unless you're a programmer you're going to be using a third party app anyway: an online exchange, or a BitCoin exchange client.

Like look. Here's an example of a website set up for the purpose of certain illegal activity (which I am in no way endorsing. Do not do this! This is for demonstrative purposes, and I did not complete the transaction). You are the first party. The website is the second party. The website is asking you to send BTC to an address of theirs, but to do so you either need your own BTC trading application or you need a third party one, because this website does not provide payment processing.

So it's worse than existing digital currency because not only is it still third party, but it's completely unregulated. And people have lost their wallets all the time, for a lot of different reasons.

8 day tickets for 5(2 adults 3 kids) - $2800
Our share of the house we rented with extended fam- $700
Travel expenses (18 hour drive) -$500
Food, snack, souvenir, misc budget for 5 -$1200

Sure you can pack sandwiches or whatever and save on the last one, but food and snacks are a big part of the Disney world experience.

I mean, we love it and will continue to go, but those ticket increases hit HARD when your youngest kids age up to the point where they require tickets. It’s really the only major vacation we’ve ever done as a family, so I couldn’t tell you how it compares to other destinations.

Edit: another thing, the old advice to stay off property isn’t the best anymore(unless you can rent a house with a group.). Decent off property hotels aren’t much cheaper than Disney’s cheapest on-site hotels, and require you to rent a car and pay for parking every day at the park. Not to mention many of those hotels hide resort fees and similar nonsense in the fine print, which Disney hotels don’t do.
