Riotous: Saw that Alucard finally admitted Stadias "modding" will probably be like Bethesdas launcher, and certainly "curated".

That must have nearly killed him to admit. You know how he hates admitting that streaming could in anyway be inferior to local devices.

Need to re-watch before 9 comes out but I thought 8 was kind of a mess.  I think I only paid half attention to it though;  it lost my interest and I started playing a game on my phone.
I checked out emotionally/intellectually when they opened with “I know you are but what am I”.

Yeah because ResetEra is the place to go when you want a true reflection of people's opinion on the film. Absolutely no selection bias there.

You gotta like kids movies that "have something for daddy."

There's supposed to be a R rated cut of the original Scooby Doo movie that was way more raunchy and pervy because it was directed by James Gunn.

Quote
Scooby-Doo was a live-action film adaptation of the popular animated franchise of the same name, originally released on June 14, 2002, in the United States. However, there is a significant difference between the cut that was released and some of the content that was originally filmed for the movie.

Early in production, the film was intended to have a more satirical tone towards the original franchise as well as skew towards an older audience, with a PG-13 rating planned. The original script had a lesbian relationship subplot involving Velma and Daphne as well as multiple marijuana gags.

This original version of the film went far enough to get submitted to the MPAA, where it received an unexpected R rating, due to what James Gunn describes as "some line of dialogue the MPAA thought referred to oral sex." Shortly after this, the studio completely forced a change in direction on the tone of the film, now intent on getting a family-friendly PG rating.

Some original scenes in which the female characters exposed a significant amount of cleavage were re-edited with the cleavage CGI'd over for the final cut of the film.

Some minor adult humor remained in the final cut of the film, most notably a gag in which Shaggy meets a girl named "Mary Jane", to which his response is "Like, that is my favorite name."

While the original cut likely still exists somewhere, no footage has ever been released from it.

https://lostmediawiki.com/Scooby-Doo_(unreleased_R-rated_cut_of_live-action_film;_2002)

We could have gotten Velma and Daphne lezzing out.  :-*

Quote from: PlanetSmasher
I worked for Comcast in their call center for three days back when I was between school years in college.

I had to drive 45 minutes each way to that job and I hated every waking second of it. I wasn't allowed to talk to anyone or anything, I had to just sit at a desk and do the same menial shit non-stop for 8 hours a day with a half hour lunch break. And at some points they made me work the Spanish-only call line even though I don't speak any Spanish.

The morning of the third day, I got so stressed out on the drive to work that I tried to kill myself by driving off the highway at full speed before my body kicked in and stopped me.

I made it to work, then at lunch time I walked out and never went back.
Quote
Left an IT call center after 4 years. It was weighing heavy on my introverted self. Taking 30-45 calls a day was rough. I honestly don’t know how I did it. I had severe anxiety and depression due to that job. So bad in fact I had to start taking meds for it.
Quote
Yeah, I was an apprentice dental nurse and I was forced out due to my boss and co-worker being incredibly ablest towards my disability.
Quote
I endured the best part of 4 years in a call centre selling health insurance. I saw a lot of people go through the month of training and practice calls then disappear after their first day of live calls.

It was a bad job but it wasn't even the worst contract in that particular call centre to be on in terms of customers.

In those four years I gained about 160lbs and developed a deep suicidal depression and sleep apnea which I'm still dealing with.
Quote
I work at a call center for a major automobile company and recently got promoted to a much more substantial role. Its honestly the best gig I've had.

This thread is making me question just how good I actually have it there
Quote
In 2017 I tried dish washer at Cracker Barrel and pizza boy at Papa Johns. Walked out on both on the second day.
Quote
Yea, I was hired at a restaurant inside Pearson international airport in Toronto (Terminal 1) called Wolfgang's Puck. I was hired as a cashier/customer service guy, but the manager asked me to clean tables, then during the afternoon he asked me to do the dishes. I was vegetarian at the time and cleaning dishes with meat stuck on them grossed me out. I told them I would be back tomorrow but I never went back.
Quote
My best story was a manager (and his friend who was a cook) kept making moves on me. When the manager got too far with some "palyful" touching, I immediatly walked to the cashier, lifted the tray where we keep 50's and 100's and took it all (in full view of the manager). I looked at him "This is mine. Do anything about it, I file a lawsuit." and walked out. It was $750. That sensation was better than sex on Sunday morning. I still think about it a lot.
Quote
I didn't walk out, but I kinda ghosted on an independent pharmacy back in May.

My boss (who is also a pharmacist) was a complete asshole, and I'm pretty certain something was actually wrong with him. I'm entirely certain he hired me just so he could fire the other pharmacist and the office manager, who were his son-in-law and daughter, respectively. While he was just generally a jerk, he seemed oddly rushed on my training, and then he tried to fire them soon after I started (he couldn't as he was only part-owner). This was in December, and as the months went on, he just started cutting back on my schedule and being shitty about it. I went from 3 days a week down to not even being called in the last two weeks, and he lied about my upcoming schedule and made last-minute changes frequently (while knowing that I had an 1.5 hr commute). Also while I knew about two guns in case something went wrong, there apparently was a gun(s) only he knew about. He was also just generally a jerk.

Anyway, the office manager (his daughter) calls me on a day off; the jerk called the cops to force the other pharmacist to leave (even though the jerk can't fire him). There was no reason to do so, but seriously, there's something wrong with this jerk. The other pharmacist handled the counting robot, ordering the medication, and the pharmacy software in general. Also, the office manager and all but one technician left following this, so the pharmacy was severely crippled by this. I never responded to my boss after this as I knew the only two outcomes would be either getting fired or having the cops called again. I learned just a few weeks ago that a classmate of mine had been hired after I left and was fired for no reason randomly one day, so I definitely made the right call. Sorry for going on so long and detailed with this.

Tl;dr boss was a complete jerk to everyone and the best option was to pretend he didn't exist.

Quote
Quote
Or you know... horrible employees, etc. There's two sides to this coin. I've worked enough retail jobs to see the ratio of shitty employees to shitty managers is heavily weighted to the employee side. And no, I've never been a boss on the retail side.
How do those boots taste?

Satire? Nope. I'm gonna support the devs who work their asses off on Diablo 4 and because I enjoy Diablo. Not everyone at blizzard is involved with the Hong Kong incident.
You're not doing them any favors by supporting the company they work for when, by several accounts, even the employees aren't exactly happy with the direction it's taking. But honestly, just admit that human rights aren't as important for you as entertainment, that's fair.
But, isn't the moderator position that Blizzard is directly supporting fascism and genocide?

I watched the KSI vs Logan Paul 2 fight. It was ridiculous. I kind of expected it would be, but I at least thought they would try to box. Well, I guess there was an attempt by Logan Paul, but it was just slow laboured jabs most of the time. KSI though was fucking wild. I didn't see a single controlled punch from him. Just wild swings for six rounds (lol). I know he did get professional help, but it seems all that went out the window the moment he stepped in the ring. Just wild swings hoping something would connect. That's not boxing.

Whenever I eat burgers whole they just end up falling apart.

I have a massive gag reflex, so I nibble on my food and don't take huge bites. It's easier when the burger is cut in half (assuming it's a rather large hamburger we're talking about).

I feel like people are just too attached to Pokémon and  Nintendo bc childhood company so they act more emotional than rational when they are discussed, same with Disney.

It is hilarious how we can have people literally saying “fuck Capcom” in random threads for not porting games to Switch and yet a sarcastic “#ThankYouGamefreak” merits a warning.

Okay for real though what's with the blind defense of one of the biggest, most lucrative brands in entertainment? Why is a slightly snarky sarcastic hashtag warning worthy when we get off topic "fuck Ubisoft" type posts in threads about Assassin's Creed, or people cheering when Ubi stock craters after some unsuccessful games without a warning in sight? Are we really at the point where some companies are simply beyond reproach because reasons? I just can't rectify the tone policing that is taking place in Pokemon threads with the routine harshness that is tolerated and often fostered/encouraged in threads about other companies.

Fuck Konami, fuck Ubisoft, fuck EA, fuck Blizzard, fuck Capcom, but most certainly never EVER criticise GameFreak. Good people are behind making these games and these games only, and we wouldn't want to contribute to any toxicity surrounding this completely unearned, mistakenly maligned game that has no flaws.

I knew ditching sprites would lead to the series downfall. Y'all were warned.

One interesting thing to note is that anime avys hate SWSH, which means the games are probably good.

Yes, there is no other way to spin it. Sword/Shield are bad games.

I don't think that's the case. Nothing actually says "bad" about it. Is it glitchy? Is it not fun?

LMAO that's how far the goalposts have been moved back.
