As I write this I'm literally breathing smoke, we have bush fires within 15km on each side of us and it's only a matter of time until they reach here. Summer has just started. I fully expect to have to evacuate by Xmas. The fire services are slowing it but have no way of stopping it, they reckon it will continue until it runs out of fuel or until we get sustained rain which is unlikely to happen until next year. Climate change is real and already having very real impacts on communities, flora and fauna. I know people here in Australia who have already lost their homes to fire and I know people back in the UK who lost nearly everything to flood last month.
