Yeah, I tried to look at the original profile of the dude who made it and I think he's not conservative, considering he has a clip discouraging people from going outside and spreading the virus but I have neither the passion nor time to delve further.

I'm open to changing a lot. It's the one specific piece of feedback I'm responding to there - that you want to be able to push back on individual mods, not just the team - that isn't okay, for the reasons I outlined.

But maybe I'm getting my wires crossed here. We're definitely open to considering more feedback when handling bans. People often re-report posts that got banned with additional explanations, and although we don't always agree with their interpretation, we have reversed bans in the past based on additional feedback. And although moderation will always be a team effort, we have also been discussing ideas on how to empower individual mods without going too far into letting them have free reign without accountability. We'll drop ideas into the thread as we have more concrete ideas to share.

Honestly, Poodlestrike, did you even run your responses by the committee? Because if I were a member of staff here, doing my best to make a good faith effort to engage and understand users' concerns and saw your post, I'd be pissed that you're taking a dump over all my effort.

The way I see it, there are two possible scenarios here: either you did, and you're answering for the team--which would show all of us that you guys really don't actually care about what we have to say--or you didn't and just think you're speaking for them when you aren't. And in the case of the latter, this is exactly why committee management doesn't work.
