So there's a really good example of this, for all of this.

Bayonetta was designed by a woman, great visual design for a character. The Animation team and the production of the game was lead by men, and thus we have the strange dance animation sequences in the middle of the game, that really don't serve much other than titillation.

Now in the case of WAP, you have a song writing team that has 2 women and 4 men, produced by a man, and the video was directed by a man... And you'd think "Wow! That's a great comparison, it works 1:1!"

No, Bayonetta isn't a real person and doesn't have any control over their image, that's Hideki Kamiya's job. Unlike Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion. They're also the two women on the writing credits for the song. And it's pretty safe to assume that they had direction input for the video.

So, here you see the difference in sexualizing women in music, in music by women, and sexualizing female video game characters, in games made by men. Are there issues of women being sexualized in music? Abso-fucking-lutely, is WAP the hill to die on for this? Not in the least.

Not sure your point around the best answer either. The best answer to years of friction with the trans community is to not only have a meaningful and nuanced take on, and consideration for, trans identities if you're going to touch on them - something this genre could facilitate well - but the respect to detail that in advance of the release knowing the growing concerns.

They have no issue releasing promo after promo and leaning on that "diversity" line while hiding behind a character creator that allows cis chuds a giggle by making a girl with a dick, at the expense of actual trans people being able to play as themselves without being misgendered the entire game.

I really don't see the need for you to stand there waving your hands speaking of crucifiction or how little you care to defend CDP when all someone has done is asked people to consider giving feedback on these concerns to them, alongside any praise they have for other aspects of the game/showing.
