You would think for as much as staff went to bat for Black Chamber, they would have made it clear that he really fucked up and should have been forthright from the beginning. I would have hoped there would have been a serious discussion that he needed to make amends and apologize for the incident after the thread was unlocked to set things back to normal, not come back in with a self congratulatory post after his own posts got the thread locked in the first place and caused the mess. But that's none of my business.

Let me be clear about something:

The main reason I didn't respond to the question of "Are you going to include a statement in the OT thread about Trans Awareness?" was because I already planned to do so. I said "Everyone is welcome" hoping that would suffice.

That was a mistake on my part and for that I sincerely apologize.

I should have said clearly: "Yes, I will say something in the OT and link Kyuuji's thread as well".

It was always the intention to include a statement regarding CDPR's divisive history towards the Trans Community and also to welcome the TransEra members to the OT.

When I said "Everyone is welcome" - I meant it. Heterosexual, Homosexual, Transgender, Cisgender, Non-Binary - everyone. I meant no offense by it and I certainly didn't expect the situation to explode the way it did in my silence.

I will do better on the communication front, as I want to be as clear, honest and accommodating as I possibly can with all of you.

I love this place and I love all of you. I don't have a single member on ignore - and that's a fact. I listen to what all of you have to say - be it good or bad. Sometimes I feel that by engaging in some of the situations that have happened recently, it would be a disservice to respond at all, as I might not get the right point across - or worse, to make things escalate by being understanding and kind. It's a strange predicament to find oneself in - but I only want what is best for this place, so feel free to lay your grievances with me alongside any praise.

Again, I'm laid bare here. I only want everyone to get along and enjoy the content that I create. No fighting or lashing out - just fun discussions about the things we are passionate about.

Literally all [BlackChamber] had to do was say the issue would be addressed. Instead they got combative and dismissive. The reason people wanted a mention of the issue in the OT is because, as seen in this thread, fans will be quick to ignore the issue and praise this game to high heaven. I've always been on the side of keeping threads regarding this game open so we can actually discuss the problematic content for real when the game is in people's hands. Now however... I feel like keeping it open is just encouraging those who are blind to everything but the hype. Right now there is a community here who are actively hurt. That's real, and not only can it be triggering, it is a truly frustrating reminder that even a progressive forum can't empathize with their struggle. That's enough to make people sad and angry, and that will lead to harsh words. That doesn't make them bad or mean, it shows how massively messed up this situation is and how many people have failed to understand what trans posters need.
