You can claim he doesn't care about that, and I can't disprove it, but the more important question: why should motives matter at all? If a journalist cares more about trying to win Pulitzer than the story they are writing about, does that weaken their right to press freedom?

They really did a terrible job at hiding it. The Russia Today and Wikileaks Twitter feeds for example were pretty much in alignment, some times RT jumping the gun.

I'm not so much sure they were baseless as much as the accusers weren't intending to file charges, but I think police have a legal responsibility to file charges for the state where they believe a crime has occurred anyway, even if a victim doesn't.
It's kind of tangential to the underlying point of the claims about state persecution and torture though.

On top of that, the forum is so fucking ugly now. The stupid "tags", the "gold" threads, the 25 "tabs" in the navigation that literally needs a scroll arrow, why is "Merch" some off-white colour different than the rest of the links?

And then you go into a thread and people are using the @<user> which creates a hover-effect if you mouse over it, and the @<console> so you can, um... see a wikipedia entry for said console?

You can really tell Tyler took over the visual design and tried to pack a bunch of ugly, useless features into the site to try to stand out.
