that said, while i get the rationalization of it being a loss leader, it'll definitely screw some poor people over. i think what people don't understand is that they see the poor almost as, like, hardcore gamers of life who know all make all the right decisions to survive, because they're that hardcore. they're living the dark souls of life, so of course they must be super savvy.

but they're not. i would know, because i was one. they're just ordinary people, making difficult decisions, often times subpar -- just like you or i. is 1.50 for a hot dog the best deal someone can do? hell no. buying bread and dogs and chooking it at home is cheaper. but there is an entire matrices of systemic factors that push poor people into making the decisions they do. many poor people never learned how to cook and are too tired to do so. yes, even for hot dogs. many are not educated, in both health and finaces, to know what would be the better decision in their situation -- and, again, they are far too tired to learn now. that's not their fault. it's not even entirely costco's fault. it's a failing of the system overall.

Costco kinda blows but people deal with it cause the stuff there is pretty good and cheap. No baggers or bags, they used to be super uptight about what cards were allowed for payment, the stores have zero decoration or much staff to help you out, and the aisles are packed to the gills.

I stopped going there cause they pulled the free membership for amex cards. Only thing I kinda miss is the dirt cheap gas.

It's pretty obvious most posters in that thread has ever been to a Costco and are just doing the kneejerk "big corporations are screwing poor people" reactions to get woke points.  No one is driving out to a Costco and dealing with the parking/crowds/dumb employees just to get a fucking hot dog.  Costcos are in the suburbs (usually outer ring ones) because of big they are, it's not like there are a bunch of poor inner city kids that aren't gonna eat now that they can't get into Costco to get a $1.50 hot dog.  Even if that was the case, they're usually surrounded by strip malls anyway, so you could go to any number of fast food places and get something off of a dollar menu, or (gasp!) take that couple of bucks to a grocery store and buy food to eat.

2/3  As per a source, they logged into multiple people's accounts & messaged admins 36+ hours ago to warn them of the breach. As one user confirmed, those who's accounts were accessed were warned, but as far as I can see, countless others who's data is breached havent yet been
