Literally all [BlackChamber] had to do was say the issue would be addressed. Instead they got combative and dismissive. The reason people wanted a mention of the issue in the OT is because, as seen in this thread, fans will be quick to ignore the issue and praise this game to high heaven. That shit makes people feel unsafe and unwanted. The hope was that the OP would include something so this shit wouldn't get completely ignored, and that people were allowed to enjoy the game, but be reminded to be respectful to trans fans who are rightfully uncomfortable with how this game chose to depict them.

I've always been on the side of keeping threads regarding this game open so we can actually discuss the problematic content for real when the game is in people's hands. Now however... I feel like keeping it open is just encouraging those who are blind to everything but the hype. Closing these discussion threads down will force those people to re-evaluate what it means to be a member of this forum, and if they don't like it they can go elsewhere. Right now there is a community here who are actively hurt. That's real, and not only can it be triggering, it is a truly frustrating reminder that even a progressive forum can't empathize with their struggle. That's enough to make people sad and angry, and that will lead to harsh words. That doesn't make them bad or mean, it shows how massively messed up this situation is and how many people have failed to understand what trans posters need. All of this started because people were looking for some kind of reassurance that they specifically would be heard, instead they got dismissed, and the person who dismissed them is getting praised because they did it calmly.
