If I'm reading this right they're even mad that one of the actresses is a Muslim but not one that wears a Hijab in real life.

The issue with these castings is a disregard for the fact that these characters are meant to be representation for demographics that are criminally underrepresented in western media. Young Hijabi girls are rarely cast in roles other than "young Muslim", and when one is written specifically for a young Hijabi girl? The role isn't given to one.

The amount of legitimate publications willing to interact or even acknowledge RE's existence is shrinking. In following the GAF/RE drama from a bird's-eye level the past ~five years, this seems like a serious incident to me (but always hard to know until the dust settles, as you said.)

All she keeps going on about is how disappointing it is that “the game doesn’t explore its own themes”. Which of course takes out the underpinnings of her argument that CDPR did this deliberately and not as part of the game atmosphere.

I mean, she’s got like 5 posts in that thread that all say the same thing. We get it, and you know what, I do care about Trans Rights and eliminating violence towards transgenders.

I just think she’s a delusional bitch thinking that this game is a flashpoint, or that there is even a smidgen of quantifiable harm that could even be felt from “Mix It Up”. Of course, I’d love to calmly and nicely discuss and consider that in their thread, but I’ll be dogpiled, banned, and cast against the rocks of NeoGaf as soon as I question their... ‘Conclusions’ in the slightest.
