- not even a house is built from the ground up. A foundation with utility and energy conduits is laid first, much of it below ground. Getting this part right is arguably more crucial a feature than proclaiming that building began on the ground and only built upward.

- it is really not how software and systems are constructed anyways. You may start with a core, or with a sub-system, or engine, or pie-in-the-sky idea, but not on the ground. Especially in spacefaring games that allow multi-dimensional orientations (and in space itself, which, hello, has no ground)

- a finished below-ground basement often becomes the gaming room in a home - why exclude gaming rooms and money-saving apartment dwellers from this?

- a house of cards is built from the ground up, too. So is a tower of lies. So are weeds. Why even leave games and game makers open to these comparisons?

- It's been overused by multiple gaming platform makers, all at the same time, and has been worn out, like wearing out a song on the radio.

Yeah I actually found that a fairly interesting read (and certainly an improvement over a 5000 page RE screed on sexist character design), as a big retro fan who knows very little about the 7800. I don't know anyone who owned one while growing up (while I did know a few SMS owners, the majority of us were of course NES). But I've been watching a few of Jeremy Parish's vids on the system and have little desire to get into it. I understand the system was released 2 years after its original development but yeah that shit looks (and sounds, since it still used the 2600 sound chip) extremely primitive compared to the NES or SMS. And I was never a fan of the chunky horizontally-stretched pixel look of Atari or Commodore systems. Whoever said the 7800 has better tech than the SMS is just kidding themselves.

You are actually a sleeping kid aboard a colony ship stuck in a hell dimension due to a FTL accident. The accident gave you powers to project your mind into the bodies of long dead space ninjas(explaining why you can change warframes like nothing).

They didn't have to do all that storywise, but I appreciate it.

Warframe's story and lore is actually kinda fantastic, and the few spread out main story questlines are really, really good. Having played the game for years before Second Dream was released, I honestly got chills during the conclusion. No lie, this was one of the greatest moments I've ever experienced in a video game. The the way it's revealed, not to mention the stellar music, certainly helped, but I think it was mostly the fact that I had already invested so much time at this point and the reveal came seemingly out of nowhere, yet it made perfect sense and recontextualized everything that happened before.

Did she need to hit the woman? Of course not. That being said I wish it was more understood the intense pressure these drivers are under to hit metrics and how insanely stressful it is, Amazon needs to be held to account for subjugating workers to not facilitate these types of interactions through the environment they propagate, it's likely a mixture of that brewing up plus feeling in that moment like a white woman was trying to make her subservient like she has probably has to deal with constantly doing that job. Ultimately we need better conditions for workers and minorities to avoid these types of situations, not that that will solve all of it and not that it completely exonerates the driver here but there's a lot more going on than just "Amazon driver assaults woman".
