I have no idea what the removed content was, but if the "advertisement" was a way for members to continue to seek advice from an expert in the business outside this board, it has absolutely nothing to do with his ban. Disallowing it is simply spiteful and punishes board members more than him.

I believe it was a post from that users wife, saying how their husband enjoyed providing assistance to people here and that if they wished to ask for any advice to contact him. She then provided his email.

It’s actually getting to the stage where people will have to ask strangers if they’re from Resetera before inviting them to their house

Our daughter is currently in a youth softball league and has made a few friends on the team. After our last game one of the parents invited a few of the other parents over so all the kids can play so we obliged.

Upon arriving to their house and walking through their kitchen I noticed a decent size pineapple magnet hanging upside down on their refrigerator. Granted I don’t know this couple that well (2-3 months through games and practices), but I can’t get that damn magnet out of my head whenever I bump into these parents.

I explained this to my wife and she thinks I’m reading too much into it and thought maybe one their kids messed with their magnets. Just seemed like a coincidence that we were invited and this symbol is sitting there in the kitchen.

Before I got promoted I was able to do 4 days a week, they were long days sure but having 3 days off was cool, now that I have only 2 days off I hate it. You get one day to recharge, and then the next day you know you have to go back the day after that, it sucks all the fun out of it. It's 70% of every month just lost, and if you include the days where you have to dread going back the next day it's over 80% of your entire month!

40 hour workweeks are bullshit too of course and that's a huge thing we need to advocate for as workers, but at least if you're going to do that, give people the option of having longer days for 4 days a week. Damn.

You could find a job where you work from home and pretend to be working on the 5th day.

I do work from home but everything is tracked through workforce management software. How long you spend on a ticket, how many you solve, how long your phone is online, your adherence to scheduled tasks, everything you can think of

I take periodic pulls off a bottle of Jack throughout the day, probably every 90 minutes or so just to get through

I like my job and I'm really good at it, I just hate being tracked so much, it induces a huge amount of anxiety in me even if I'm consistently the top performer in our entire division even with a Senior role where things are more complicated. If I felt I could work at a chill pace and still be okay it wouldn't be as much of an issue, but if I step away I might get a talking to from my manager and it would impact my performance reviews

Find a different job. That sounds like bullshit and I would not accept that as an employee.

It's easy to say that but the reality is I have about 16 months of experience and only 3 of that being after a promotion, leaving now it might be pretty tough on me and a pay/title cut would be hard t justify when I'm on the wrong side of my 30's and have a very sparse resume. I have no degree, my previous jobs have been as a substitute teacher and like working generic retail stuff. I'm lucky to have the job I have as it is. I've heard other offers from being headhunted and they haven't been anywhere near my current pay, with perks and bonuses and everything I'd have to lose like 15k a year which I just can't do. I spent most of my life making minimum wage or near it, this is the best I've ever been doing money-wise even if I'm not rich.

This is borderline too schadenfreude even by this threads standards, but there's some karma here for someone as fucking cavalier about other people losing jobs even over false accusations as he is

I don't think it's a stretch to say this fuck up is literally the result of it being a public figure in a well publicised case that everyone 'knew' was guilty poisoning the well and making the subsequent DA pull an unethical breach of agreement so that the public got the result they were clamouring for.

If it HADN'T been tried in the court of public opinion first and foremost, and the twitter mobs weren't demanding satisfaction, the DA would have passed on a case they couldn't prove, and Bill Cosby would have had to incriminate himself in a civil lawsuit (and lose), or face jailtime for perjury. And losing that civil suit would then open the doors for other civil suits by other complainants whose cases were also not strong enough to meet the legal requirements for criminal trials.

So... 10 years before the criminal case, a prosecutor made a deal with Cosby to obtain a confession with a promise that he wouldn't be charged criminally. He did that apparently because he thought Cosby was too powerful and the case too weak to be prosecuted criminally and it was the best he could get in a civil case.

Then at the criminal trial, this deal was deemed non-binding and skipped over by not only the new prosecutor, but also by the trial judge himself, because it wasn't put in writing and the previous DA's testimony about this deal was deemed non-credible

And now the Supreme Court decided that actually yes this was binding, that he shouldn't have been criminally prosecuted, so now he gets to walk?

This is so grotesque. I know people want to blame the former prosecutor, but there's a lot more wrong with this whole thing than just this, IMO. First: why do deals like that even exist and why are they legally binding?? If a guy confesses to something criminal, how the fuck should this grant him immunity for prosecution? "Deals" like that are garbage, honestly. They let rich people get away with the worst, and they are often used as coercion against the vulnerable and the poor ("plead guilty to X so you won't go to jail for Y" / "but I didn't do either X or Y" / "yeah but no one will believe you so just admit to X and get the lesser sentence").

And then, the trial judge also knew about this deal and rejected it, yet somehow the Supreme Court decided that it should have been enforced. And not only that, it invalidates the whole trial.

Listen, I assume the person is living in an apartment. And I live in one, too. I just feel like it's my responsibility to be considerate to my neighbors and I keep the noise down. Apartment walls are typically shit regarding containing noise. So fucking yes, if I had a crying baby, I would *at the very least* keep it away from shared walls. That would be the least I could do. There's a vast difference between a crying baby and someone playing loud music, stomping on the floors, etc.

TBH it really isn't any of their business that a baby is crying, unless it's something like it sounds like the kid is being beat.

The parents are well aware that their kid is crying, your going to their door to "politely" mention that it's bothering you would get met with a "kthx, get fucked chief" from me.

It just boils down to if you don't like listening to your neighbors (most people don't) then you shouldn't live in an apartment/condo.  But per REE if you buy a house you're robbing trans lesbian POC.
