My friend's pretty high up there and my heart goes out to him   (Image removed from quote.)

Someone bought 900k in puts last night right before the news and today made $17 million.

Let us know if your friend shows up to dinner in a new yacht

If I ran a company I would only hire hot babes and force them to work in the office (and keep the AC at 79 so everyone wears skimpy outfits).

But isnt Tesla like 97% dudes? And not just any dudes, but like neckbeards that dont wear deodorant?

I agree with Elon here. Lot's of people 'working' remote but not very effectively (especially those with little experience in remote working).

Working together becomes a Tetris challenge of remote meetings where a lot is said and planned but little is done.
The end result is a lot of 'circling back' and missed milestones and deadlines and overall less team cohesion.
In my experience more stuff gets done at the office (unless someone works remote for a specific task and doesn't want to be disturbed).

Not to mention all the casual 'breaks' of doing the laundry, picking up packages or just running random errands.
Lots of people just aren't responsible or capable enough to plan their own work or their work/private life sort of starts to blend together which is not good for anyone.

My controversial statement as an employer is that in my experience most people suck in general suck at their jobs, do the bare minimum and don't give a flying shit about the work. And from my understanding of 20 years of an employee prior to that at various jobs, this is something that has always been the case (at least in the USA) and remote work just makes it easier to hide the fact of doing the bare minimum, or less than that, at all times. Not really any different from buttons on the desktop to hit to make it look like you're working when the boss rolls around.

So I don't think remote working is bad. As an employer I'm pro remote working, pro 4 day weeks, living wages, etc...

But I also have a really pessimistic view of employees in general. Then again I have a very pessimistic view of people in general so it's not that different.

I mean browser skins that made internet forums look like an excel spreadsheet have been around forever.

Every single website reports their busiest traffic during the standard 9-5 workweek. This has always been the case. If it wasnt, websites would set their content to publish at 3pm on Sundays. They dont. People sit down to read it at 9am when they get to work.

Also I want to amend that statement to say Employers suck too because gasp they are people as well (even worse, people with power and a lot of people who've fallen upwards and are terrible at their job + power).

I guess I just think a lot of people are terrible at doing anything in life with care.

Subject: Headcount Reduction
Date: Friday, June 3, 2022

Tesla will be reducing salaried headcount by 10% as we have become overstaffed in many areas. Note this does not apply to anyone actually building cars, battery packs or installing solar. Hourly headcount will increase.

That rings a bell.

Late June 2008: Despite the U.S. stock market falling to a 20% drop off its highs, commodity-related stocks soared as oil traded above $140/barrel for the first time and steel prices rose above $1,000 per ton. Worries about inflation combined with strong demand from China encouraged people to invest in commodities during the 2000s commodities boom.

The entire current state of the world and economy is just old people revenge.
Just look at Putin, Biden, Schwab, Soros, Pelosi and all the big players.

In their dying breath the boomers destroyed the economic power of the next generation and militarized the hippies into a climate cult.

And house prices gonna be mostly unaffected still because equity firms/overseas investors buying up neighborhoods paying all cash so mortgage rates don't matter.
