The actual crazier part is that when he said George would be looking down smiling, he wasn't even talking about the jobs report. He was talking about the mass protests and riots and cops beating the shit out of people and killing more people.

Kilmeade: "Some people have criticized your comments on George Floyd"

Trump: "Look I think he's happy I really think he's happy -- probably he's up there with Michael Jackson and 50 Cent making new hits -- they're all looking down to see what great things we're doing for our country.
I don't think George would want to abolish the police at all for his run in with this -- I call him a bad apple, I call him a bad apple -- we have to get rid of the bad but you can't throw away the good with the bad.
George wouldn't want that George would want peace and maybe a little bit of justice so I think he's really having a great time up there with all these stars like really the big ones are already dead when you think about it"

I think people mean abolishment in different ways.  To me, in the long term, it means a partial abolishment - there will still be police, just a lot less of them.  In the short term it means disbanding individual orginizations and rebuilding them.

"Associates" of Rudy with the remnants of the NYPD, Eric Prince, Flynn, Don Jr. and the Trump Organization would take over New York and Washington D.C. within a week.
Zuckerberg would protect his interests in California. In other places it would just be various mobs and gangs running the show.

Lou: "Now Rudy what would you say to people that claim you have no authority over New York. Joe Biden said the other day that you should release Nancy Pelosi from custody and Eric Prince should remove his tanks from Wall Street and other vital landmarks across the city"

Rudy: "What are they going to do Lou?, call the police gehehehe"

Lou: "Now that would be something Rudy a radical socialist calling the police, now tell me what is your message to these so called East Side and West Side gangs threatening to take-over more territory?"

Rudy: "Our message is that we still control the airforce Lou and the President isn't afraid to use them if they touch the corner of 32nd Street"

Local stations sent out an alert that said CIVIL WARNING: DO NOT GO TO DOWNTOWN INDIANAPOLIS TONIGHT. The curfew was reinstated, through Tuesday morning. Catching a live stream, the only thing going on is people quietly kneeling in the streets and praying/chanting.  Basically, a sizable group is walking a certain distance, kneeling and chanting, then moving on to do it in another area. So if police come and fuck these people up, which you have to assume is going to happen based on the warning being pushed to all local networks :yikes

This is a good thing.  The protests have gotten too peaceful and this is an obvious abuse of power.

Yeah couple of buddies went there, told there would be no gas or flash bangs, get both and apparently quite a lot of kids in the crowd so that’s fucked up. Although who the fuck takes a kid to a protest, especially one this late on when you have seen the police doing nothing but be vile.

These sorts of actions will turn the general populace against the protesters in favor of law and order especially outside the US.
I'm seeing it happening across the world now, it's no longer about the police violence and racism. Basically every left winger with a gear to grind is using this as a 'platform'.
Statues, war memorials and churches desecrated for no reason will not lead to the outcome they expect.

The last 2 days in the US have seen incredibly massive almost entirely peaceful protests across the country...

But some statue being torn down in.. *checks notes*... Bristol, Englad.. is going to turn the tied against US protesters?  lol
Yeah, in the US they are more focused. It's especially outside the US where the protests are taking a different turn.

The old Nintex is BACK!
Not really I still support peaceful protests. I'm just not in favor of tearing down statues and other landmarks for a political agenda no matter what the political agenda is.
I'm not seeing how erasing history is going to help us solve the issue of police racism in 2020.

It's a statue from 1895. It survived WW1, WW2 and dozens of other hardships.
So very little survives 100+ years and it is completely unnecessary to tear down such an object.

Now there could be an argument that such a statue should not be placed in a public square and would be better suited for a museum to give it the proper context.
I just don't think it's a good idea for a spur of the moment mob to decide what of history we preserve and what can be tossed into the sea.

It can be fished from the harbor, put in a museum.. and all of it's historical context can be on display, including the 2020 event where people decided slaver statues should get thrown in the harbor.
It wasn't 'decided' by the people or voted on. It was just a mob that acted in the spur of the moment.

Probably roughly the same thing it says about the people who erected confederate generals and leaders monuments in all throughout the South AND North not even in the immediate aftermath of the Civil War, but in the early 1900s and and 1960s.
I agree that such statues erected after WW1 and WW2 were probably created in extremely bad taste or to provoke.
With regards to Colston, I'm reading that there are still a lot of question marks regarding his history with regards to slavery.

The sculptor John Cassidy seems to have done a lot of statues of historical figures and did not seem to have a radical agenda of any kind.
I'm also reading a newspaper conducted a poll and the local residents didn't want the statue removed. Instead there was a proposal to add a description to give the statue more context.
Which would've been more appropriate.

Churchill is a symbol of defiance against oppression and tyranny. He is revered as a hero throughout the UK and many other countries in Europe.

If you want to show the world you are just an anarchist with no sense of history, culture, no one should take you seriously and you don't plan to do anything constructive there's no better place to start than to deface a statue of Churchill the day after D-Day.

And therein lies the contradiction; for the majority of people living in europe churchill and his ilk are heroes... But for the rest of the world that the British Empire victimized he's a Hitler. Unfortunately a movement centered around attacking the handling of internal colonies will come with attacks upon the perpetrators of colonialism and slavery. Sucks but all these societies programmed these conflicts into their social makeup with their past and present.
