Kinda surprised GoW Ragnorak is 4k/30fps and something less/60fps on PS5. The tiny amount of in-game footage in the first reveal trailer just looked like the last game graphically. Not like a Horizon 1 -> FW graphical jump.

Hopefully this means Ragnorak will actually be visually impressive. They really need another gameplay trailer showing off some cool visuals.

I'd rather they focus on making the gameplay more fun. Just tweaking the timers on the cooldown skills'd help a lot. Or just tie those skills to a rage meter were good play gets rewarded with cool skills. Cut down on the walking talking sections. The climbing is so automated it might as well not be in the game, so either get rid of it or make it actual gameplay.

I'd rather have any of those changes than more shiny graphics.

Sure, better gameplay would be great,

But God of War 1-3 just had ok gameplay but the epic scope of the visual encounters made them impressive. GoW 2018 lost that in its perspective change. Really hoping Ragnorak brings back some of the epic large scale visual encounters of the old games.

What I want from GoWR on PS5 is less squeezing through gaps to mask loading time. Don’t know how they’ll manage when there’s parity with PS4.

Nah it was a short cute little game. I enjoyed the Nostalgia, but it wasn't *my* nostalgia

No Maximo, no Jersey Devil, no Tenchu, no The Bouncer!

6 Wild ARMs games and it was relegated to a trophy name

Normie shit like Death Stranding, Horizon, etc

It was a mostly a showcase game, not just for the PS legacy, but the possibilities with the DS5.  I found it hard to not smile most the time playing it.  After playing Rescue Mission too, Team Asobi is going to bring the fire with Astrobot’s next entry.  This was just a freebie pack in demo… But a solid one at that.

Sure, they could've crammed in shit, like Blasto and other forgotten titles (mine were more Devil Dice and Alundra) but they're not there... It is what it is.  :trumps

I won't stand for any debasing of either Astrobot game. Best games Sony 1st party has made in the last 20 years.

The platforming controls are tight, the level design is great, the art style and graphics are awesome, the music is awesome and it has tons of heart. Yeah the PS5 pack-in one is very short, but it's not supposed to be a full game. It's a mini-game and it's great. Can't wait for the full length sequel and Astrobot VR2.

This is the million dollar question for me...  Wish they'd make it clear beforehand, but they're being obnoxiously silent about it like they were with PS5 being BC with PS4.  Plus, weren't they wanting to launch that this holiday??  It seems they're being quiet about it too.   I dunno.

A lot of the games go on sale more often now with pretty low prices... I can't help but to fear it won't be BC because of this... at least, not with most games...  I can see only a handful of games, like Rescue Mission, Blood & Truth and Moss Books being "updated" to be PSVR2 compatible, but not all things..
:ufup If you want me to keep buying PSVR games, Sony, you're not helping atm.

I feel ya... I have to not only clear my play area, I get ocd where I need to wash my face prior to prevent any oils getting on the forehead pad or nose flaps... then wiping the lenses..  then adjusting the camera based on standing or sitting... syncing the move controllers depending which game...   :stahp

...but Rescue Mission is absolutely worth it!  It's SO good! It's truly the future of 3D platformers...

I was thinking about upgrading my Series S to the X so I went into GAME this morning to see what trade in deals they had. I was wandering about when suddenly I noticed there was a bunch of PS5s just sitting on the shelves behind the counter. Like rare wild animals. Snagged. Cost me £410 but it came with the new Horizon Zero thing so that was ok. I haven't opened it yet but can tell it's a beast. The thing weighs a ton.

I put on the new Horizon game. It looked great. The graphics are definitely next gen. 10 minutes in I was so bored I was losing the will to live. I got to the part where she was given the rock pulling thing and couldn't stand anymore of it. It's literally just a shite Ubisoft clone. I went back to Two Point Hospital. In 2022 an indie spreadsheet simulator is more inventive than a AAA big budget next gen Sony exclusive.

From what I've played it's not too difficult except the fucking drones in stage 3.

It's just that it's ridiculously long for a rogue since you have to do 1-3 and 4-6 in one shot. The drones killing me everytime I got back to stage 3 after 20-40 mins and having to start all over again soured me on the game and I bailed.

Though I like the new tower mode.

Replacing the whole analog stick unit is to counter stick drift? Haven’t encountered it personally but see plenty of people talk about it. Should’ve gone all the way and let the dpad and stick swap.

Overkill for me. All I’d want is the back button attachment the PS4 got.
