Yakuza is all on gamepass (i don't care, but you can't argue they're bad games), Nier Automata is on gamepass, Flight simulator is the visually most impressive game ever made and it's on it, Snow Runner is fun as fuck and it's on it, Metro were all on it, Ace Combat 7 (was) on it, etc...

Please point me towards these magical masterpieces that are supposed to be so far above this riff raff.

I love Yakuza I’ve only played 0 so far but I’m gonna go through them all, even though I’ve prepared for the hot messes that 3 and 5 are apparently.

The series is about as anime desu as I can get now since I’m not 15 and angsty anymore (except for chrono trigger and FF6, which honestly, avoided most of the worst tropes anyway  )

Game Pass isn't like XBL Gold. You don't own the games forever. So once a game leaves Game Pass or once your sub runs out, you can't play it anymore unless you buy it. They're on there for about a year once added though. That's a reasonable amount of time I think.

Xbox Studios games will be on there forever obviously.

I think their point is that most games nowadays you don't need to own forever, because you play them once and move on, so something like Gamepass makes more sense in that context.
And if you really want to replay something, it's not like you're forbidden from buying it anyway.

Now a new report from Video Games Chronicle claims that the game missed yesterday's Xbox/Bethesda E3 2021 presentation because Everwild has been "completely rebooted" following the departure of creative director Simon Woodroffe. VGC also confirmed with Rare that Woodroffe has been replaced by Gregg Mayles. Apparently, the game is now "optimistically" planned for 2024, so fans might not be hearing more about it for some time.

The 2022 games are probably Splatoon 3 and BOTW2 (their next 'big' releases. I'm leaning towards a summer release for Splatoon 3 and a holiday release for Zelda).
Other than that it's 2021 stuff and if there was something 'big' they would've already announced it before. They could surprise drop a Xenoblade game or another Fire Emblem remaster next to the usual suspects like Kirby but that's about it.

Strategically for Nintendo it's better to curbstomp the Switch Pro hype so it doesn't eat into existing Switch sales.
A very dissapointing showing and dangling the BOTW2 carrot while the parents and kiddo's buy Pokemon and Mario Golf would do just that.
