My theory (which is obviously correct) is that they had originally targeted 2021 for both BotW2 and Switch Pro, but due to *gestures vaguely at everything* BotW2 dev time took longer than expected and there was not enough supply of parts to justify a Switch Pro release with severely limited quantity and no new marquee game to move units anyway.
