Maybe this is tangential, but I feel like the tendency of anime fandom to use "loli" as a general term for underaged girls is kinda fucked up. The term comes from the title of the book Lolita, which is about a pedophile. Girls exist regardless of anime or their depictions there; Japanese has terms that mean "girl" which aren't rooted in pedophilia.

I honestly didn't know how bad this dude was until reading this. I guess I'm late to the party! I never watched the show and always thought he was another looney courtesy of Oprah, who also brought us Dr. Oz.

Dr. Phil, yes, is bad overall. But you know what, he's actually not that bad because while his methods are highly questionable he does do a lot of good for many who appear on his show because his show follows up, notifies proper authorities, etc. which is not normal for these types of shows. There are lots of Dr. Phil success stories which simply isn't true for most TV shows which simply exploit these people. Now ideally, Dr. Phil's show would be the worst of these shows with most shows achieving even more but that's not reality and while I'm not saying Dr. Phil should be exempt from criticism (nobody should) there are better targets.

One was openly mentioned in the OP, Dr. Oz who pushes literal snake oil and psuedoscience and is running for Senate.

Another one was mentioned off hand but treated with kid gloves even though they also push psuedoscience, have a well known history of exploiting people without follow up, have outsized influence within industries, have actual deaths tied to their shows, and are even treated as a serious Presidential candidate despite all their problems: Oprah.

Thankfully, the thread eventually did get around to noticing this, including the fact that Oprah bequeathed this entire industry that Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz exist in. (She also actively makes money off both as they are part of her corporate empire.) But the OP himself just dismisses such criticism with:
