That was also the main thread on a mass shooting that just happened yesterday that is a pretty big story right now so it seems like it should have some representation here. I'm not sure what constitutes a derail as the general conversation was still examining issues that contributed to this and other shootings.I'm just not sure why this would be locked with the message not saying it would be re-opened after a period of time with such a big story as opposed to using moderator action against any bad-faith actors in the thread, or like can another thread be created for discussion or would that be closed as well?Anyways thank you for reading and your efforts for the community!

OK so I need some advice and I don't want to be so narcissistic as to make a new thread about it: Basically, I want to move out of my current situation but I have no idea how I'm supposed to do that.
I want to lose weight, but with my Mum making dinners for 8pm most nights - and making dinners for 4 people at that (my portion control is abysmal) - it's almost impossible to do so without something drastic like One Meal a Day
Outside of that the fact that I live in a relatively small town filled with nothing but older Boomers/Gen X people and schoolkids makes me feel out-of-place almost all the time. It's very rare that I see someone my own age, and even rarer that I see someone my own age who I'd realistically want to be friends with
Why would I willingly go from about £100/m for 'Everything', living in a relatively large (though still small) house with a nice garden... to spending over £1,000/m for the bare essentials, whilst living in a shitty, mouldy flat with no outside space? Sure I could move out but, I mean, would I be able to actually do anything when I do? I'd be trading one of my easiest living situations practically for one of the hardest, and there's no signs that anything is ever going to get easier.
