Era shit on the Resident Evil show, it got abysmal reviews and audience scores. Now they are mad they cancelled it? 
Even the people in that thread kneejerking "omg netflix cancels everything, unlike papa disney" aren't actually defending the (lack of) quality of YA High School Drama Evil.
And really, like a bunch of other IP franchise shows that - rightly or wrongly - get push back for being shit in various different ways, the problems not the people commissioning them, its the increase in what I can only call
selfish writers, who don't have the clout (because they don't have the
talent) to commission the preachy mary sue autobiography they want to write but nobody wants to watch, so they latch onto an existing IP like a parasite, then start writing their shitty self-inserts.
