As is well established, it's not like we read every thread with our detective hats on looking for rule breakers.
Well almost exclusively rely on reports by members, or posts we happen to come across while doing our own thing.
If you see someone using cunt against people and they haven't been banned, more likely than not it's not been reported [yet], or maybe it's recent and we haven't gotten to it yet.
That said, these kind of bans are easy to handle, there is little room for debate or interpretation, so they are usually dealt with fairly quickly.
Needless to say, banning members that use inappropriate slurs is not what keeps us up at night.

Also worth noting, if members are called out in the thread and then self moderate, we absolutely take that into consideration.

I was on a night out a few hours ago having a great night and one (of two) of my friends unfortunately got way way too drunk. When that happens he becomes uncontrollable no matter how much I try to reign him in.

I'm apologizing left right and center to everyone for his behaviour and people are cool with me and generally understanding. I leave for the toilet for two fucking seconds and come back to my friend pepper sprayed. My other friend is nowhere to be seen.

It was like two hours ago and I still don't know what happened. He pissed off the wrong person. I had to direct him home 2/3 miles while he was blinded and crying and in pain. In the process I'm now covered in the fucking stuff.

No need to explain to me that my friend needs reigned in if this has happened, trust me, I KNOW. Been telt 1000 times and this is the worst thing that's happened.

I washed my hands for 30 mins straight and covered them in milk too and it still feels like my hands just handled a mega hot chili.

I'm now just sitting about waiting for the pain to pass. Somehow the friend that got sprayed directly has managed to fall asleep.

Probably karma for going apeshit to a elderly couple when they asked about a dog question.

They consider the dog an emotional support animal, and I get that, but the dog deserves stable ownership and housing. And they can’t afford to get her spayed or shots or meds. She has no vet history. When they were drunk yesterday they threatened abandoning her if I didn’t take her in. So then this morning they asked me to take her for a few days. But they are hesitant to let me fully own her because they selfishly want her/don’t know how to emotionally cope without having her. But I explained to them how they’re not a responsible owner for her right now and at the same time they are listening and agreeing and understanding that their circumstances might not be the best for the dog.

Talked to my husband and we want to keep her. She deserves better. She is the sweetest most loving chihuahua.

Am I an asshole for trying to convince my ex/friend to let me have their dog? None of their other friends want it and they just can’t afford to care for it and they need housing and mental healthcare support before they can take care of this dog.

Before my friend took care of her: The dog was already rescued from a meth house, where she was traded for meth, and the drug dealer owner never let her outside and she was just surrounded by cooking meth fumes for years. Then she was abandoned and my friend took her in but his life and mental health are incredibly unstable.

She doesn’t know a stable loving home and I want to provide it to her.

A significant contingent of Republican politicians don't actually hate their Democratic coworkers either. They put on a fire-and-brimstone bit to their base and then chat these dudes up at the gym about the wife and kids, and apparently it's so jarring that it throws off younger and newer Democratic officials. Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin has stopped providing transition-related care to transgender teenagers, according to several parents who were told they would need to find new providers.

Dell Children’s said in a statement Saturday that while its adolescent medicine clinic remains open, “the physicians who previously staffed the clinic will be departing.”

Parents said they were told about the doctors’ departures just hours after Attorney General Ken Paxton announced an investigation into “potentially illegal” activity at Dell Children’s. The investigation seems to be in response to a video report from the conservative Project Veritas, a far-right activist group that engages in deceptive practices to do hidden camera-style investigations.

The video allegedly shows a Dell Children’s social worker saying the Austin-based hospital provides certain gender-affirming treatment for patients “as young as eight, nine” and sometimes after only one consultation.

In response to the video, Dell Children’s released a statement on April 28 that says it does not provide hormone therapy or gender-affirming surgery to children, and the hospital system was looking into the allegations.

This investigation comes as the Texas Legislature looks poised to bar trans minors from receiving puberty blockers and hormone therapy. Those already receiving these treatments would also have to be “weaned off” of them, which some trans Texans and their parents have called forced detransitioning. The ban would take effect on September 1, if Senate Bill 14 becomes law.

News of the staffing changes at Dell Children’s left parents scrambling. One mother, who agreed to speak with The Texas Tribune only if her name isn’t used because she fears for her family’s safety, said her 12-year-old daughter received her first puberty blocker shot earlier this year, after over a year of medical monitoring and tests.

Her child is due for another shot later this month, but last Friday got the call that her doctor had left Dell Children’s and the appointment was canceled.

“It happened so quickly,” the mother said. “I was under the impression that we still had this appointment and that we at least had that one guaranteed shot.”

Another Austin-area mom, who spoke with the Tribune on condition of anonymity because she also fears for her family’s safety, said her trans daughter has presented as a girl ever since she was a young child. After years of therapy and social transitioning, her daughter eventually got on puberty blockers under the guidance of the doctors at Dell Children’s.

“She was thrilled,” the mom said. “Things like, when she would get recognized for a girl at the store in the checkout line, her face would just light up.”

Her daughter formed a close relationship with the doctors. They were the first ones to notice that she was struggling with an eating disorder, which the mom says even her pediatrician had missed.

“These kids develop relationships with these doctors that they trust and that’s ripped away from them,” she said. “We’re left with a child with an eating disorder that no one is watching.”

In the days since she got the news, the mom has called several out-of-state clinics, eventually finding one that would put them on a nine- to 12-month waitlist for care.

Nichole, who also asked that her name not be used out of fear for her family's saftey, hasn’t gotten the call yet from Dell Children’s about whether her child’s June appointment is canceled, but she’s proactively looking for a new pediatric endocrinologist.

When she first learned her 11-year-old identifies as nonbinary, meaning neither male or female, Nichole said she had “a lot of learning to do.” Their first appointment at Dell Children’s was the education the family was desperately looking for.

“That first appointment we just had conversations about what gender-affirming care is, really broadly, and what medical interventions we could consider and the implications of that,” she said. “It feels radical, honestly, to have a doctor’s undivided attention, just to answer questions, but that’s what it was.”

She said the providers made sure her child had a voice in the conversation, while still respecting the role of the parents in any medical decisions. They didn’t feel pressured into any particular course of action and their next appointment was going to be a very similar open-ended learning format, Nichole said.

“To me, it felt like what medical care ought to be,” she said.

Since she heard the news about Dell Children’s, she’s been calling around to other states, and found a potential provider in New Mexico. This doctor used to work in Arkansas, but relocated as that state cracked down on gender-affirming care for minors.

For Nichole, the most important thing is making sure her child doesn’t have to worry about any of this — interruption to their health care, the cost, the burden.

“My kid’s job is to be a kid,” she said.

A significant contingent of Republican politicians don't actually hate their Democratic coworkers either. They put on a fire-and-brimstone bit to their base and then chat these dudes up at the gym about the wife and kids, and apparently it's so jarring that it throws off younger and newer Democratic officials. When it comes to foundational issues of the way this country is structured, and the fact that politicians within both parties are rich assholes largely insulated from the consequences of any conservative policies, there really isn't much opposition between them. They really just use the culture war issues for campaign and fundraising fodder. It's why the Obamas and Bushes get along so well; they recognize they're the same class. It's liberals who are confused about that.

It also continues the MCU’s tradition of villainous progressives—utopian dreamers who want to change the world for the better, and end up just slaughtering people.

They are very attached to their dog but they’re emotionally unhinged.

Yesterday they couldn’t get a ride to an art show they had planned for months because they didn’t plan the logistics well enough. So they couldn’t sell their merchandise and basically were left out high and dry on income options for the month. So they freaked out, threatened to burn everyone and everything, literally burned their artwork in the tall grass of their backyard, got so emotionally upset they mixed sleeping meds and alcohol and got blackout drunk, lost their phone, ID and debit cards, and imo their dog doesn’t deserve this.

She’s very attached to us and does well with our pets, we dogsit her all the time. My friend has always asked us to be her godparents essentially. We’re housing and income stable here, meanwhile they’re basically homeless, between rooms/couches every 6 months, with no income, disabled, and in huge debt. They consider the dog an emotional support animal, and I get that, but the dog deserves stable ownership and housing. And they can’t afford to get her spayed or shots or meds. She has no vet history. When they were drunk yesterday they threatened abandoning her if I didn’t take her in. So then this morning they asked me to take her for a few days. But they are hesitant to let me fully own her because they selfishly want her/don’t know how to emotionally cope without having her. But I explained to them how they’re not a responsible owner for her right now and at the same time they are listening and agreeing and understanding that their circumstances might not be the best for the dog.

Talked to my husband and we want to keep her. She deserves better. She is the sweetest most loving chihuahua.

Am I an asshole for trying to convince my ex/friend to let me have their dog? None of their other friends want it and they just can’t afford to care for it and they need housing and mental healthcare support before they can take care of this dog.

Before my friend took care of her: The dog was already rescued from a meth house, where she was traded for meth, and the drug dealer owner never let her outside and she was just surrounded by cooking meth fumes for years. Then she was abandoned and my friend took her in but his life and mental health are incredibly unstable.

She doesn’t know a stable loving home and I want to provide it to her.

It’s been going around for years, but people often advocate for a Latino or MENA actor to play Superman, to play into the whole refugee concept. Ignoring that refugees can be any race, and people would whine about a Ukrainian Superman, does it need to be that literal? Do you not get allegory? There’s no problem with that choice. Superman can be played by the handsome asian lead from Snake Eyes with no loss. It’s the idea of stories needing to be so surface to understand the themes.

Anyway, there’s always Dean Cain if you want a non-white Superman. Man, I haven’t heard about that guy in ages. They should bring him back. Bring back Gene Hackman while you’re at it. Well, he’s a bit old. But there’s always the guy who played Lex in Superman Returns.

I don't really think South Park handled the particular Muhammad situation with the level of tact and maturity that would make those episodes enduring, though. Bringing them back would almost definitely read as a publicity stunt. I just don't think the benefit of bringing them back is worth the potential cost.

It's a comedy show not 60 Minutes not Reuters TV.  What tact and maturity is required for this...unless, what you're saying is, you want a separate standard for this religion above all other religions?  Just say that instead of lying.
