nah, more like gaf mods all have sticks up their asses

with threads like this:

Games I want made for my Nintendo Wii

and (I'm assuming since I haven't read it) that 10 page Ubi one, it's hard to blame them.

That Ubi thread is a hilarious display of cognitive dissonance.  When the Wii first came out, Nintendo fans were championing it as a haven for experimental low budget games.  Now that the Wii is the sales king, Nintendo fans want expensive AAA games on the system.

It's hilarious isn't it, they want to be the market leading platform, with cheap experimental games that are interesting to them AND expensive AAA games. I guess since they've had N64s and Gamecubes they're not used to the shovelware that comes on consoles people actually buy.

Market has changed, there will never be another PS2.

Never understood the hate for that last Malcolm X part

It's stupid! He goes from Malcolm's assassination to a bunch of kid's saying,"I'm Malcolm X!" It completely ruins the movie for me. A bad ending is THE WORST way to end a film.

Instead of covering Malcolm's influence on the black community today, and how what he taught changed the way we think, he has a bunch of children spouting,"I'm Malcolm X!" Goddamit, Spike!

Eh, Nintendo fans are always that contradictory.  That is nothing new - Nintards believe everything needs to be on a Nintendo system but they'll never buy anything other than Nintendo published games.  It's weird.

I think drohne said that Nintendo fans prefer Nintendo to video games.  If not, someone should take credit for it - that is a true statement.

Plus Himu, the ending was mainly the eulogy Ossie Davis gave at Malcolm's funeral. I thought it was very well done. And it does talk about his influence on people today; it's a very good speech.

Sounds like you're focusing more on the Africa scenes at the end which is understandable, but at the same time it's not like it was poorly done. I don't see how such a small part could possibly ruin a movie as amazing as Malcolm X.

I thought Malcolm X was decent - I read his autobiography a few times and didn't like how sparse some of the details were but it was a good movie.  The ending didn't really bother me.

harSon has an aneurysm if you suggest it is a bad movie.  At least he did around its release.

She Hate Me or St. Anna? I remember him defending St. Anna as well as Lee's attacks on Eastwood

Yes, the parts in Africa really rub me off the wrong way. I don't know why. It just annoys me. I can't find it on youtube, but I'm talking about the part where the kids in Africa are running around with Malcolm X photographs and shit, and the part in the classroom with Nelson Mandela.

As much as I dislike that part of the ending, though, I think it's probably worth it alone for the scene where Malcolm is driving to the Auborn Ballroom and his killers are following him. It's very reminiscent to a scene in The Godfather. The music that plays...the music!

Best scene Spike has ever done? YES. :bow

Obese air passenger in economy seat has picture taken
An image of an obese passenger squeezed into an economy airline seat has reopened a debate about how airlines deal with growing numbers of oversized passengers.

An image of an obese passenger squeezed into an economy airline seat has reopened a debate about how airlines deal with growing numbers of oversized passengers.
The image, posted on Flightglobal, is thought to be genuine

The picture, posted on an aviation blog, was reportedly taken by a flight attendant to illustrate to airline managers the difficulty of dealing with passengers who cannot fit into seats.

It is unclear if the man was aware his picture was being taken or whether the flight, on US carrier American Airlines, took off with the passenger spilling out of his seat.

Airlines already offer extended seatbelts to larger passengers to comply with safety rules but a number of carriers now insist obese customers buy an extra seat.

US domestic no-frills airline Southwest has a “customer of size” policy that insists passengers who cannot lower both armrests buy a second ticket which is reimbursed if the flight is not full.

American Airlines does not have such a requirement but urges passengers to “recognize ahead of time that they may need to purchase two seats”.

The image, apparently taken on a Boeing 757, was sent to writer Kieran Daly and posted on his blog at aviation news website, Flightglobal.

It is not clear if the image has been altered but Mr Daly wrote: “This is sent to me with the absolute assurance that it's a genuine picture taken by a flight attendant at American Airlines. The F/A took it to show her manager what was happening on the aircraft (757???) and why she was unhappy about it. Seems the guy paid for only one seat and the gate staff let him board.”

Comments below the blog entry illustrate the debate over how to deal sensitively with obese passengers while ensuring others have enough room.

In a statement, American Airlines said: "At this time American Airlines is unable to confirm whether or not the image referred to was taken by a member of flight crew but will investigate the situation internally to determine if any of the airline's strict policies were not correctly applied.

"American Airlines’ primary concern is for the safety and comfort of its passengers and crews and consequently passengers are advised to book two seats if they are concerned that they will require them. If a flight is not full, however, passengers' needs would be accommodated without charge wherever possible."

My first r-rated movie was Total Recall. I saw it in theaters. My dad even let me watch stuff like House Party, Terminator 1/2, Robocop 1/2, and Pretty Woman.

You need to be 17 to be admitted into r-rated movies. :P

When you guys say first, do you mean the first r-rated movie you ever saw or the first one you could go to legally? I don't remember when I could go to one, legally, by myself. Probably Kill Bill.

...really Kosma?  I thought the general rule throughout the country was that you had to be 17 to get into R rated flicks.

And yeah I'm referring to the first time I saw an R movie in the theaters.  I was with my dad for The Patriot, and I remember it being a big deal for me, seein' all those militiamen legs flying off.

I'm sure I had watched R movies before that, but they were on TV and censored.

On the other hand, video games are a whole different ball game. The first Mature rating games I bought without adult supervision were GTA3 and MGS2.

I was 16.

Aren't you supposed to be 17 to buy Rated M games? I was renting stuff like Mortal Kombat as a kid too.

The first R-rated movie I ever saw were Terminator, Terminator II, and Aliens lol. And yet my mom wouldn't let me watch Robocop, so one day when my parents were gone I took the copy out their room and watched it.

About a month later they went out on a date or something and I watched Robocop 2...but it got stuck in the VHS and I couldn't pry it out. Once they found out I got grounded  :lol

There's a couple seconds in Terminator where you can see Linda Hamilton's sideboob, which was cool. But Robocop was a complete upgrade; during the locker room scene there's a full shot of some chick's boobs. I must have rewound to that part many times

itt: two mods act even more immature than the wiitards that nearly ruined the thread in the first place

lyre especially.

Nintendo really doesn't have room to complain.  Ratchet did the spherical worlds thing first, so this is just karma biting nintendo in the ass for stealing from insomniac.

Did you watch the trailer? This game looks FAR more like Super Mario Galaxy than Super Mario Galaxy looks like anything from Ratchet and Clank. Even the HUD looks almost exactly the same!

Not that it makes much of a difference to me, I'm not going to throw a party or anything if Nintendo sues this company.

I was just trollin' me some brandnew

About Rated R movies being watched with the family, all I could think of is this

I remember watching The Stand with my parents and little sister (forget how old I was). I distinctly remember being told "COVER YOUR EYES" to a couple of scenes. Though, I think this is the origins of my huge titty fetish (Laura San Giacomo's chest :drool )

:lol That "cover your eyes" reminds me. I have a strange set of cousins that are peculiarly religious. They grew up without television, had weird food rules like drinking only soy milk, and were homeschooled (its not PD :teehee). We would have large family gatherings for college bowl games and the superbowl, so the Weirdos would come over and watch. Being weirdos and all, they would typically sit on the floor in front of everyone else who were sitting in the couches and chairs. Whenever a commercial break would come on, the dad would say "turn your heads" and their entire family (they had like 6 kids) would turn their heads so they were facing away from the tv and towards the non-weird families, like they were watching us while we were watching the commercial :lol.
