Downing Street did not deny reports of an increase of at least 1% to improve social care and tackle the NHS backlog.

The justice secretary said he would not "speculate" but said there should be a "grown-up conversation" about how to pay for rising social care costs.

The move would break a Tory manifesto commitment at the last election.

Hold on a second.

We send the EU £350 Million per week

Let's divert that into into contracts for busted PPE, print about 200 times that via QE to enrich boomer asset holders, and then have young people foot their other bills instead

Quote
Exports of food and drink to the EU have suffered a “disastrous” decline in the first half of the year because of Brexit trade barriers, with sales of beef and cheese hit hardest.

Food and Drink Federation (FDF) producers lost £2bn in sales, a dent in revenue that could not be compensated for by the increased sales in the same period to non-EU countries including China and Australia.

A Belarusian court on Monday sentenced Maria Kolesnikova, a prominent opposition figure who led mass street protests against President Alexander Lukashenko, to 11 years in prison, the latest move in a widespread crackdown on government critics following a contested election last year.

Kolesnikova and another opposition activist, Maxim Znak, were charged with extremism and conspiring to "seize state power in an unconstitutional way" in a trial held in the capital Minsk behind closed doors, Belarusian state media Belta reported.

Znak, who is also a key member of the coordination council formed by opponents of Lukashenko's authoritarian government, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

We've had a long running saga involving replacement submarines for the past few years. A French company was supposed to build them here (non-nuclear) but that project has been an absolute clusterfuck and no progress was being made.

Remains to be seen whether this is a better solution, because we have no nuclear industry at all, despite having 1/3 of the world's uranium deposits.

So you resigned 6 months ago, 2 of your 3 cabinets didn't make it, 18 ministers and counting have left after scandals and incompetence that were mostly your fault... and somehow you are still governing and gaining in the polls. Tell me how that works Mark.

Remind me to get the fuck out of the US or any closely allied countries with Israel once Iran inevitably develops nukes.  I have a feeling these people aren't going to take 22 of their smartest nuclear physicists massacred lightly.

It's basically just the same concept as the D.C. sniper attacks (a roaming sniper's nest located inside a vehicle), only with a remote controlled trigger with auto-assist. It's high tech but it's something you use in assassination, not warfare.

It's not the tech that's impressive, rather, the total amount of shit we're going to eat for supporting this kind of diplomacy.
