But the best thing?  Switch 1 games run better.  Depending on the game you can get better framerates, faster load times, and/or higher resolutions.  Pretty much any Switch game that has an uncapped frame rate and/or dynamic resolution is going to benefit the most.  Some titles like Bayonetta 3 and Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity feel like new games because of how much smoother they are and how much better they play because of it.

Sort of sad that this is the main reason to get one. Even worse, Minecraft getting an upgrade is what will push me over lmao.

Mario Kart looks amazing but its a game I play for 2 hours every 6 months. Great with guests, but I dont like playing alone, even online.

The GC games are also interesting, but so far I already own 3/4 and my GC is still plugged into the TV.

I know we're in the age of prices going up instead of down, but Im hoping Costco will put together a better bundle (im already on an online family plan with friends, so I dont need that)

Yeah, that's definitely another positive thing- Switch 2 feels a lot sturdier with its joycons attached for sure.

I got a Switch 2. It's a nice piece of tech, way more sturdy and nice than Switch 1. My first actual Switch 2 game will probably be Donkey Kong, I didn't use my Mario Kart code, will probably sell it.

Playing Bravely Default 2 on it, though it doesn't actually give any benefits

Need to pick up some Switch games I didn't bother playing because of Switch 1

Did anyone buy this thing?

Its basically a Switch Pro, which is what we wanted....in 2021. And the game lineup is Mario Kart and...nothing else?

Wasn't planning to buy one at launch and was going to wait however long to pick one up, but was on vacation during the launch, walked into a store and found and plenty available, so picked it up.  It's not like the price is going to drop anyway.

The launch line-up is lackluster for sure, but it doesn't matter.  Shitty console launches are kinda typical.  I got Mario Kart, Fast Fusion, Street Fighter 6, and Cyberpunk.  The latter two are fantastic ports overall.  Mario Kart is awesome.  Fast is cool.

I'm pretty happy with the system overall.  The screen could be better - there's noticeable ghosting on some titles, but it's not enough to be a bother- and I'm not the biggest fan of the joy-cons once again, but the latter will be resolved when third party joy-cons come out and I can play with a controller anyway.  Mario Kart being priced at $80 is still a bunch of bullshit but whatever.  LOL if they release dlc and charge more for it.

What was Nintendo doing for 8 years.

Making tons of money (see: Joe's reply)
