Giallo is the worst kind of bad movie, boring and tedious. Dario Argento's film before this was pretty not good either, but at least Mother of Tears was batshit enough to be entertaining, if not through design then at least through accident. This 'thriller' is just pretty much worthless, with surplus loads of bad acting, a plot that goes nowhere, and inexplicable decisions that only make the film worse. There are bad movies that are still fun to watch just because they have a lunatic energy that manages to compensate for whatever flaws they might have. Argento used to do that kind of film masterfully, this ain't one of them.

Stolen, It's just like John Sayles' Lone Star, only without, you know, quality. There's so much miscasting in this film it almost becomes a secondary attraction, "Who Doesn't Belong in This Picture", starring a still way-too-young-looking-to-be-taken-seriously James Van Der Beek as some shady dude, he wouldn't be the only one. Only Josh Lucas seems to inhabit his role as a economically desperate father with any verve, everybody else is going through the motions of a crime story that may be based on true events, but isn't actually interesting. This film and the previous were great insommnia cures, I'll give them that.
