Batman: Under the Red HoodBetter than most Batman movies, not just the animated ones. A serious storyline, well-told. I may watch it again tomorrow. Great voice acting, except for Joker, because it's not Mark Hamill, and the actor goes for a significantly more dry Joker. Bruce Greenwood makes a great Batman, NPH does a perfect number on Nightwing, and Jensen Ackles nails Red Hood. The movie does a good job of not only being a good, self-contained story, but also remaining mostly open for continuation, like a comic. But they'll not go back to this one, I think.
So yeah, Insidious 2. Not a bad movie. But strange. The pacing is probably the only bad part of it technically. It's like Paranormal Activity or any other haunting movie without so much talking or subtlety. It's entertaining and from the very beginning the movie is in high gear, but since it can't really escalate anywhere the ending feels flat. It's very self aware and there's a lot of cheeky humor in it which I like, but it also makes it feel more like an action movie with horror elements than a horror movie. Not a bad way to spend 2 hours though.
Does it feel substantially different than the original
Insidious? I really liked that movie.
Now you see me -
The ending was the dumbest thing I've seen in a movie.
You should look up what the ending was originally going to be.
Edit: Never mind, thought you were still talking about World War Z.
OK, I went and looked that up. Oddly, auto-complete for "Original ending" will bring up "world war z" auto
magically.
This movie was a real popcorn flick. I didn't like it much, mainly because it was all about Brad Pitt, and how he solves every problem. The book was about community, and how individuals did their part to overcome the war.
WWZ movie suffers from the same problem the first "Tom Cruise IS
Mission Impossible" did, in that there's a box office superstar in the main role, so let's have him do EVERYTHING. All the major discoveries made during the story, they're all down to Brad Pitt. I prefer zombie movies about how the survivors are dealing with each other, so I think I would have liked that "original" ending better.
I am pretty happy if this means there won't be a second and third film in forcing this into a trilogy though.
