It's 10 man. We wiped many times, but we were making progression. I was outside the portals killing/interrupting shit while noticing everyone in the brain room's health bars depleting pretty fast. Eventually it got better but yea, once they're familiar with the room/layout I think we'll be fine.

Do you usually go into the portal or stay out? On the outside we'd usually try to move in the same direction (clockwise or counter-clockwise) killing constrictors, crushers, interrupting corrupter. But a few people would eventually start going the opposite way focusing on crushers while a constrictor was on the other side strangling someone.

60% of the damage you do to the tentacles in the brain room is reflected back at you, that's why their health bars drop fast.  We don't use healers (me) in the brain room on 10 man. Hybrids can heal while killing tentacles and then be meaningful DPS on the brain.  The outside group should move immediately to the next crusher.  You kill constrictors when they grab someone and corrupters when all crushers are down and you have free time (which should be fairly shortly after the tentacles freeze if melee aren't taking more than 20 seconds to get to the brain).

Some folks in my guild decided to do an instance so I can get some experience. We decided on WC.

So I went to Orgrimmar (cool place, very very busy compared to Silvermoon and Undercity) and we went to WC.

Scored a fucking awesome piece of armor and one level.

This is pretty good for my level, but it's a shame it doesn't give bonus agility for my rogue. But now that I'm that I'm pooling points into precision I've noticed my sword is missing less by at least 90%, so I'm able to get in more hits and more often instead of missing all the damn time.

At this point, I'm almost done with the ghostlands and it's my goal to finish there tonight and reach level 20.

Now that I'm almost 20 levels in, many hours played, over 100 quests completed I'd have to say that WoW so far is one of the best mmo or online game I've played. I hope it stays that way.

After Ghostlands it's Undercity time:

Finished all the quests in Ghostslands tonight. Had a blast, met a lot of cool folks who were willing to suck up to my virtual vagina because I play as a female character.

Next patch you can get a mount at 20 and for less gold.

Why? It's a loot pinata

Owned Kologarn finally (25 man) only to get stuck on Auriaya. Still working on the pull. We have a hunter put a trap down, then 3 tanks picking up adds at top of stairs while another tank takes the boss. I've been looking around for a better way to do this. We separate the adds and dps moves from one to another killing them

I want to try this. Our strategy seemed too sloppy, and by the end a couple people were almost always dead.

I'm in vent right now and our gl is complaining about people not showing up for shit this week. Because of people not showing up we didn't have much time in Ulduar 25, and didn't have the time to do Vezax on 10 man. Just a few minutes ago we cleaned up some bosses we had skipped on 10 man - Razorscale, Ignis, and IC.

Now obviously life>game, emergencies happen blah blah blah. But if you constantly sign up for stuff and don't show up/give heads up/etc there's a problem.

I still managed to get some nice stuff this week

My lv44 shaman has so much dust on it. I had initially vowed to do at least a level every day (or two days), which isn't too hard with rested xp.

Now I just get on my main, and really the only stuff I do is raid and do dailies to make back any gold I lost raiding. Sometimes I'll get together with some players I go back a long ways with and just bullshit around, do instances, etc. I'm more interested in the conquest badges dropping in all heroics than I am about the new raid in 3.2. It'll give me an excuse to do heavy amounts of instances every day, like when I was a new lv80.

Just have a tank pull Auriya with line of sight (around the corner at the top of the stairs).  He'll eat all the pounces, but with healers watching it should be fine.  We have a tank tanking Auriya a bit away from the pack, and one ON the pack, and then we AOE them down.  After the cat pack dies, you group up really tight right in front of Auriya and waste her.  You can't be spread out or the defender will pounce around and own people.

(Image removed from quote.)

Actually won't the patch make it worse, at least on serves with high populations? More incentives to do instances=more people doing instances=more lockouts. My serve is of medium size so we don't have that problem

We downed Auriaya on 25 man tonight. The sentries were gathered together and aoe'd down quickly near boss. I was on boss, which was kinda hectic but not hard.

Then we downed Hodir. Wiped a few times but imo it wasn't much more challenging than 10 man, which isn't hard. Fun fight though. Our problems boiled down to distinguished mentally-challenged fellows dying from flash freeze, or not freeing the NPCs (dps whores!).

Then we tried Thorim and failed. The arena group was having trouble, which me and the tunnel group were doing well. I'll have to look up some tips on group makeup for that fight, it seemed like nothing was working for the arena folks. At one point the tunnel group consisted of like 3 dps, with the rest in the arena lol

I was such a baddie back then. Nelf hunter in full blues :rofl One time our guild finally downed Golemagg after wiping on him for 2 weeks, so we decided to give Domo a shot before calling it a night. I'm one of those ADD distinguished mentally-challenged fellows that has to constantly be jumping in circles, and as they were explaining the fight on vent I accidentally lagged into the adds, starting the encounter. The best part is that everyone died except for me :lol <3 Feign Death.

I know some people who are getting alts to lv60 in preparation for the xp-halt thingie. So they'll just do pre-BC stuff. They invited me to come but hell, I can't get one alt to 60, how will I get another there lol. I asked if I could just try to get my shaman to 60 but they don't want the new classes. :lol

I didn't start raiding until LK. For whatever reason I just never did anything at lv60, then I got tbc and didn't do much content either. I did half of one heroic (Durn) and that was that. My absence from TBC raids/content was more due to computer problems though.

In 3.2 you'll be able to turn XP off (10g fee) for PvP and PvE. Aimed at twinks I guess, but it'll also work for raids/dungeons etc thus allowing people to sort of replicate pre-tbc times.

That's a pretty neat idea. I wish they would take it one step further and make 60 and 70 servers, though, because the fact that all the talents are now designed for players at level 80 kinda defeats the purpose of the whole thing. That's still cool, though. It almost makes me want to renew my account.

Last night I had a blast.

Went to SFK with a party and it took some effort but we managed to beat it and do like 3 quests there.

Managed to make it to 26 and get a whole slew of new gear from the AH.

It's about high time I start focusing on making some fast gold so I can get me a mount once I reach 30, which should be sometime next week.

I got a bunch of wool cloths tonight to fulfill the 60 wool cloth quest but I said fuck it and turned them all into bandages. So now I got like 60 wool bandages in my inventory. I'm considering putting them up on the AH for some gold, but I didn't see any Wool Cloths on there....so...

What should I price it?

Actually, it's 58 wool bandages.

Anyways, I need a mount bad.

Moved from Ashenvale (most of the quests suck there) to the Barrens and Thousand Needles.

Thousand Needles is crazy in terms of design and architecture and it's hard navigating around. Need a mount bad.

Herbalism blows to me. So I unlearned it and grabbed mining. Right now I've got 3 stacks of copper ore in the AH worth 6 gold a stack. Fuck herb.

Got my skinning to level 125 tonight. It was pretty easy due to the fact in the Barrens almost every enemies has fur.

After this whole experience I'm starting to figure out a good way to level up and train my alt whenever I choose to do so.

Aside from that, pretty eventful play of WoW tonight. At least 30 people left my guild over some drama including a few real life friends. I'm split though, because I really like the people in my guild....

6g per stack for copper ore wasn't selling this morning when I logged in for a few minutes. So I took those auctions down, reduced the price to 5 per stack and when I logged in a few minutes ago all of them were sold and I now have almost 50gold in my wallet.

Nice.

Skinning is up to around 185~ish now, while mining is up to 63. Just 2 more mining levels and I'm moving to Thousand Needles to level up.

My bar is halfway full on level 28. A few quests and I can make 30.

I think I'll do that tonight when I get home from a night at my buddy's, seeing as how it's WWE RAW night.

3.2 release tomorrow, prepare for hours of delays/downtime

Quote
WoW.com has multiple independent sources confirming the release of Patch 3.2 tomorrow (Tuesday August 4th in the US) and we're happy to pass that information along to you.

There are no patch notes available yet, however they will no doubt be made available within the next few hours. But really, the patch notes are not going to deviate a terrible amount from the PTR patch notes, so this evening is a good time to familiarize yourself with everything.

The patch will also bring with it some rather significant extended maintenance as well.

WoW.com has compiled everything we've written into a very large and complete patch guide, WoW.com's Guide To Patch 3.2.

Enjoy the patch, folks!

Do you guys remember how fucked up it was to do Molten Core/Blackwing Lair back in 2005 on a high pop server?

I had shitty lag in MC around then (I stopped march 2006). Made trying to do something as a rogue impossible

Usually at least 5-10 people would end up disconnecting during a boss too :gloomy

Ha. I was gone for about 2 days during the weekend, busy with rl stuff. The second I got on, on sunday, our GL sent me a worried whisper asking where I was, why I missed raids, etc. I told him I was busy (gearing up for new renters, dealing with a fucking annoying realtor, the usual). He's paranoid about people jumping ship, especially tanks. Clan Battlehammer is like public enemy #1 to him

I'll probably download the patch and then go do something constructive, like take a jog or head to the book store. Don't want to deal with disconnects and shit like I did with 3.1. Once I get back I'll go on a heroics marathon. We have a raid scheduled tomorrow for 9pm, but if the patch drops I'm guessing those plans go out the window

Heroics being worthwhile will probably give me something to do. Plus another five man. I've been gone for weeks though. I told some of my guild I was busy with my college move. They probably still hate me. I really won't be back playing WoW until at least September.

Should be fun indeed. Raiding with guilds is cool but nothing beats an instance/raid run with buddies imo. I'll probably wind up doing everything except Occulus/HoS/OK lol

:D

Thousand Needles is a treasure trove. It's got copper, tin, silver, iron veins a plenty. Over the course of tonight's session I was able to get 90 plus g total in my wallet from selling stacks of copper and tin.

Players will now be able to trade soulbound items with other raid or group members that were eligible for the loot. This system will work like the Item Buy Back system and allow 2 hours for players to trade an item after it has been looted. Players who choose to enchant or add gems to the item will get one last confirmation before losing the ability to trade the item.

wut, how did I not hear about this
