I tend to drag Clover with me for pack mule duties, I took the +50 carrying capacity perk, and I wear something light like leather armour.  I carry about 55 units of stuff normally.  That's the best I've come up with.

What I would give for another 100 units of capacity though. :'(

I have a 200 unit capacity -- I assumed that was STR related, not arbitrary. I tend to run around with 170+ units of "must have" gear, so the +50 unit perk will probably be one I choose as well. And I'll wiki-up whatever Clover is. So far I haven't been in a scenario to find out if I can fast-travel with an NPC. That 10-year-old kid from THOSE! just made the trip to Rivet City on his own (stunning, I nearly died, myself) and Cherry, that redhead banging the alcoholic Russian who doesn't want houseguests pulling iron, wanted to go to Rivet City as well but decided I was a cunt because I'd left her where she was for five days, after she'd been shacked up with the alcoholic for god knows how long -- apparently my lack of promptness has renewed her faith in drunken orgies.

So.
*wiki-check*
Ah. I'm not playing EVIL so I can't get her. Crap.

Oh yeah, as an update to my head of state thing, I got bored and went and killed all the slavers. Then I went back to my place in megaton and took a nice long nap. When I fast traveled back to the location everyone was there waiting for me, so it all worked out nicely.

Eep, yeah I see why you'd be getting frustrated.  I think I can carry 260, and as I said, I carry about 55 of essentials.  Carrying capacity is directly related to strength, +1 strength = +10 capcacity or something.

I think there are about 7-8 sidekicks throughout the game, so if you aren't evil enough to ride with Clover or the dude from Megaton, someone else should come along soon.  Sidekicks can go everywhere with you including when you fast travel.

Clover's pretty trigger happy, so I usually clear any enemies around the entrance to a dungeon and then return with Clover and park her at the front door, where I load her up with loot.  She burns through ammo too fast for my liking so I don't traverse the wastelands with her.  That said, she is so efficient at killing that by the time I turn around to see what she's shooting at, everything's usually dead.

Another good thing is that sidekicks can all wear power armour.

:rofl  What a great game.

Yeah. I'd been looking forward to roaming the wastes with a redhead in a sheer slip of a nightgown. She doesn't know what she's missing; once you roll with a guy who eats nothing but SUGAR BOMBS, you never go back.

I wonder if Bethesda are kicking themselves for mentioning they would raise the level cap - I imagine quite a few people are holding off on DLC until it happens.

They should kick themselves for the level cap in the first place. >:(

I was playing Fallout 3 today and I got to level 20. As I gained more experience I saw that my experience bar was continuing past 20 on to 21. Will it just never actually "get" to 21 until the DLC or will it keep stacking up the experience just never getting me the perks and skill upgrades?

Just finished up the Pitt. It's not bad. There is a bit of backtracking that I didn't particularly care for and a new variety of enemy that I found to be very annoying. There are a few new weapons, an auto axe which is the first useful melee weapon I've come across in the game, and a silenced assault rifle called the Infiltrator. I picked up the armor off one of the main baddies though, and it wasn't even as good as my Recon armor  :-\. The setting is really cool and pretty different than anything else in Fallout.

Oh yeah, there is an achievement for collecting all 100 steel ores  :yuck

$10 and it took me a good 3+ hours

Plus at the end you get a weapon/ammo press and there are some new perks, weapons, and achievements

I thought it was worth it for the amount of content, and the fact that I will probably play through it more than once.

I'm going to wait and get all 3 DLC's at the same time so I can put the XP towards leveling up. I guess I'll keep screwing around doing sidequests and exploring until then.

What mission in the main quest is the point of no return? I think I have to go to a place called Lamplight to figure out how to get into an irradiated vault, but I haven't done any of the main quest in a long while for fear of getting to that point of no return. Still loving this game though, it's probably my favorite of this gen.

Bethesda has taken steps to have the latest downloadable content for its hit RPG Fallout 3 to be removed from Xbox Live servers following complaints that the file was corrupted.

The Pitt, which was originally due for release today, has now been postponed until a new file can replace it.

The full Bethesda statement is as follows:

We are continuing to look into the issues people are experiencing with The Pitt for Xbox 360. As of now it looks like the file for the English version on Xbox Live was somehow corrupted. We are currently working with Microsoft to remove the existing file off of Live to prevent any further downloads. Our plan is to replace it with a new file as soon as possible. We hope to have another update for you shortly.

Or is my game just messed up?  :-\

I've done that several times and still nothing.

I'm on the PC version, by the way.

I had to cut the bsa and esm files for the dlc and then paste them in c:program files/fallout 3/data. Then I had to run the fallout launcher, click on data files, and check all the dlc and the main game. directions stolen from gamefaqs:

1) DL the DLC from Games for Windows Live.
2) Once downloaded and installed, go look into this address in your PC: (C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Xlive\DLC). GFWL keeps the DLCs hidden here. If you can't find it, use the search function and tick the option to search for hidden folders as well.
3) Look for these 3 files (Anchorage - Main.bsa, Anchorage - Sounds.bsa, Anchorage.esm). You can use Search function directly to look for them instead of Step 2 above if you want (remember to tick search for hidden folders too!).
4) Copy and paste these 3 files into your Betheseda Softworks\Fallout 3\Data folder (you'll notice that there's other similar file types here, ie: .bsa, .esm). 5) Now click your Fallout 3 Launcher icon, go to Data Files. You will notice 2 .esm files, which are Anchorage.esm (unchecked) and Fallout 3.esm (checked). Now check Anchorage.esm as well and press OK.
6) Now launch and play your game and load your latest or favourite save. Wait a few minutes (preferably outdoors), and you will be informed of a new signal in the Capital Wasteland (Outcast Distress Signal), and the quest "Aiding the Outcasts" begins when you hear the details in the radio broadcast. Now you can play Operation: Anchorage without GFWL needing to be logged on to play it!

and yes, one would think that this issue would have been solved by the second dlc pack.

The whole Games for Windows LIVE is such a joke, anyway. This process would be so much easier if Bethesda just hosted the DLC file on their website and you download it directly from them, but nooooo, can't have that.

Looks like this is my problem:

Quote
One of the most common problems with Operation: Anchorage failing to load is when Fallout 3 is installed on a drive OTHER than C.  For example, Fallout 3 is installed to D:\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3 on my computer.

Also, how the heck do I find the "Documents and Settings" folder in Vista?

Edit: Finally got it working. Moved the files over and it started right up just like it was supposed to.

The new enemy which Kestastrophie mentioned doesnt seem to be too annoying just yet... Mirelurks were more of a pain in the ass IMO... or maybe Im just drunk haha

Probably gonna start this shortly after the new DLC hits.
