I don't know how you could play this game with a controller. Mouse and keyboard is where it's at for me with this game.

Since it's steam, I just re-map all the keys to how I had them for YEARS of Counterstrike. I had to up the mouse speed a little, but I never have to pick it up.

Which is worse with a mouse, because you have to do the whole, "oh reached the end of my mousepad, have to lift the mouse up and bring it back" thing.

This game fucking rules.  Sucks it runs only decently and hiccups every once in a while (LOLOL the game wanted me to run it at 640 x ??? default...yeah right.) but still awesome. I wonder if it's as good on 360.

I'm getting serious stuttering...hitches with looping sound every few seconds. Runs at 60fps between stutters, as it should since my PC is way above source engine specs. The demo is unplayable for a lot of people, but apparently valve is working on a patch.   Awesome.

yeah other than teh stutters and extreme zombie hordes, the game runs silky smooth the only thing I don't like is that the controls are kinda floaty but i think you can fix that in options.

I used a console command so that it only uses 1 core, but now the game drops to like 30fps when lots of zombies are on the screen. oh well.

i tried the 360 demo today.  it feels slower paced compared to the PC version for some reason.  i do like the quick turn though, that's some bad ass shit.  visually, it's crap compared to my rig.  but i dunno, it's got its own feel to it...  i MAY double dip on the 360 version if i could get a deal just to play with my console only friends.

What are your system specs guys that its stuttering???

Stuttering is caused by some multi-core processors, I guess.

It says more about my personal taste than the quality of the game. It's definitely geared towards old school FPS fiends. Personally I'm over that style of game. I'd much prefer an improved sequel to Dead Rising (or the rumoured 'GTA IV of the Dead' DLC.)

The Source look works pretty alright with this game. You almost need something clean (if barebones) to make the action flow smoothly. Then again, I still think HL2 is a pretty good looking game.

It works a lot better on the PC. I really can't believe how mediocre the 360 version looks. Maybe it looks a lot better in HD, I don't know, but in SD it looks bad compared to most other 360 games I've played.

I think they sacrificed some detail for smoothness; it doesn't hiccup or slowdown even with all those enemies on screen.

I didn't realize the game is all about PSYCHO FAST ZOMBIES.  I thought this was going to be a realistic zombie apocalypse simulator.  Still pretty fun though, but very, very arcadey.

Like 99% of Zombie movies or Zombie books.  Slow-moving stumbling zombies that overwhelm you with their numbers and surprise you out from places you don't expect them.  Basically like RE.

These guys move like the crimson heads in RE.  It works, but they're hardly zombies to me.  Game could have just been called "shooting speed addicts" and it'd be the same.

I don't believe fast zombies would exist if an actual zombie outbreak happened. I personally feel that the body would decompose too fast to have that much brain function. I do however believe that slow zombies can still effectively overwhelm a group of people.

Realistically if there was a zombie outbreak, I'd probably be alright.  I live on the 7th floor, close to a super market, my doors are heavy so they can't claw through, and I always have a large number of water bottle cases stacked in a closet.  Biggest problem would be weapons since I don't, and probably never will, own a gun.  I do have a nice selection of knives in my kitchen, but I don't think they will be good choices.  I don't even have a baseball bat here.

First sign of any outbreak and I will drive down to the supermarket and stock up, if I have time raid Radio Shack for some batteries, then come back here and lock myself in.  Even if there is no power I can use my new bounty of batteries to play Gameboy games or read my magazines.  I also keep a lot of files on external hards so if my main computer is down, I still have access to a bunch of stuff.  I should also probably steal a solar power device thing from Radio shack and put it on my balcony, then hook that up to my laptop and get enjoyment that way.

I actually kind of want a zombie outbreak to happen now.  I'm so well prepared.

uh, unless it originates in Philadelphia and the US government devices to nuke the origin point.  That would suck.

Depends on the hypothetical "infection" that starts the zombie outbreak.  In the Romero universe, the origin of the outbreak is slightly supernatural, and anyone who dies by any means becomes a zombie.  That would produce some overwhelming numbers of walking corpses in a very short amount of time.  In Snyder's take, the only way to become a zombie is to be bitten by one, which balances out the numbers a bit - they also decompose quickly  (by the end of the DotD remake the zombies, while still fast, are pretty much falling to pieces).  I'd say both ways would result in the ruination of humanity.  The Romero zombie apocalypse would just take longer.

This game has perfect balancing.  If you disagree, first try playing it on advanced difficulty.  Every grenade and health pack counts and you'll be constantly working to keep formation, healing, etc.  It did take my team 4 tries to finish the subway area but the game is VERY easy on normal after that.

Played if for a few hours the other night with some GAFers and I don't know how I feel about it.  We had it set to hard or extreme so I don't know what it's like normally but what we played the game seemed like a meat grinder.  The game starts pooping so many zombies at you that you can't help but be overwelmed and hunters fly out of nowhere knocking you on your back before you have any time to react.  Just a little too crazy for me.

I do like the healing animations though.  SEX-AY.
