So, I paid a fucking $15 for VVVVVV. I want my money back.

finished off Half Life 2. Enjoyable but it does drag. It feels like the stages go on for too long. Also that chick suddenly changing sides at the end didn't make sense.

I'm playing episode 1 now. Enjoying it and the pacing seems better.

Totally agree.

HL2 is a great game that just goes on too long.

I enjoyed Episodes 1 and 2 much much more. Episode 2 in particular is awesomeawesomeawesome.

HL2 is one of the best games ever. It also has the perfect lenght for an adventure game.

I did a map of Valkyria not caring about rank and just used an entire party and slowly and methodically killed everyone on the map and even wasted a turn just to let my CP max to 20 for the final rush turn.  Game was definitely more fun.  Will continue to play like this and not care about speed running rank.  Game is also WAY EASIER when you aren't trying to finish every map in 1-2 turns.  Which is good because I like easier and less reloads.  Using snipers from towers is actually pretty fun.  Still got an A rank too (B rank in US version).  So leeway is there.

Went and bought the DLC chapters and bonus challenge maps now that I'm enjoying it.  Will try them after I finish the main game.

Almost done with RE4 wii first playthrough. I'm in the garbage area about to do the truck bit, so basically I'm about to beat the game.

Can't wait to tackle the ps2/wii content, as it'll be all new for me. Plan on getting the handcannon which I've never done. I'm betting on Mercs being fucking easy in the wii edition, though due to the controls. I got all the caps with ease whereas in the gc version I actually had to put effort into it.

It's funny. I have DQ9 and SMG2 sitting here and I'd rather replay RE4. :bow Game is godly.

Anyways, I'm struggling remembering if I DID unlock the handcannon in RE4 or not. I just don't remember. It looks just like the best magnum in RE5 so I'm getting the handcannon and and the RE5 magnum mixed up. Fuck.

I know I unlocked Chicago Typewriter and infinite rocket launcher.

RE4 and RE5 are both awesome in their own ways.

Hey Bebpo, you're on a SRW kick, but what about Queen's Blade Spiral Chaos?  It's still an SRW game, just with titties more titties plus you can target specific parts of the body to strike (didn't see that in the SRW games I tried).

Beat Resident Evil 4 wii.

Wii version is definitely the ultimate version. The controls are superb. You could argue they make the game so much easier though. I got all the caps without any effort, and the Red-9 has been upgraded tremendously past what it was in the Gamecube version. In the GC version, maxed, it can shoot for only 4.0 dmg with its exclusive. In the wii version, it's 6.5.

So it's essentially a mini-sniper rifle.

Aside from that, the game is still quality. I have Dragon Quest 9 and Super Mario Galaxy 2 sitting here, and I've been ignoring them since starting a RE4 game. :lol

Forgot how much Assignment Ada sucks BALLS. But from here on out, it's new content for me. I'm going to start Separate Ways tomorrow. Never played it because I never played the ps2 version. Hopefully it's not as bad as Assignment Ada.

it pretty much is.  the reason re4's so amazing is because there's so much variety in what they throw at you.  there's almost always some little twist that makes every room unique.  SW doesn't have any of this.  it's seriously just running from room to room, blasting zombies, over and over and over.  also there's only like three new maps and only one of them is cool.  it's re4 with all the creativity stripped out.  totally wasted potential.

Finally played though the campaign of MW2 to 1000 it. Pretty fun game. I'm not sure if I missed something though because I have no idea what happened to Sgt. Foley (or whatever the name of the guy is that Keith David played). I'd say the CoD4 campaign was a little better though.

Playing BlazBlue Continuum Shift story right now too. It's actually pretty damn good so far. :bow Hazama, king of the trolls.

Finished the first half about an hour ago. This game surprised the shit out of me. Definitely one of the best jrpgs this gen and the achievements aren't distinguished mentally-challenged or ridiculously hard to get either.

You upgraded 30 weapons to their maximum level.

Enjoy 30~ hours of farming.

I watched the entirety of Baccano while farming and I still wasn't done by the time the show ended. :-\

All RPGs have at least one distinguished mentally-challenged achievement. It's a law.

Enchanted Arms was pretty close to a good achievement list, but wasn't there some side missions near the end to get ultimate weapons? I don't really remember, but there should have been achievement for doing those. I think just doing all side missions, completing the story, and beating all bonus content should get you the full 1000. No grinding for hours upon hours and farming endlessly for junk you don't need. For short games like Zoids and Eternal Sonata, requiring two playthroughs is fine too I guess.

Penny Arcade Episode 1 had decent achievements too IIRC.

I got my monitor at the end of 2008, and only just NOW found that there's an option to enable 1:1 aspect ratio for a proper 16:9 picture when playing consoles on it.   :-[

EDIT: Any PS3 game that is 720P won't upscale to 1080P with this setting enabled, and will run in a small window.   :lol  360 has no problem with any game.

Anyway, been playing:

Dark Awake (PSN): This is a Japanese-only PSN 2D fighting game.  It's a port of a five or six year-old arcade game originally titled "Chaos Breaker."  It uses prerendered sprites and looks butt-ugly on an HD monitor/TV. It's a Golden Axe/D&D style fighter where you pick various medievil characters (including obvious Golden Axe rip-offs) and can use items gained in combat/assist attacks.  It plays pretty stiffly and is nothing special, but is an amusing little oddity.  The game also has some of the worst voice acting I have ever heard, being so bad that's funny.  It even has online play, although being Japanese-only, it's got awful, awful lag playing from the States.  Who would have ever thought someone would port this game to current consoles?

Persona 3 Portable (PSP): Getting back to the grind.  I only play this game in small spurts, so I finally made it to floor 12 of the Tarturus last night.

BlazBlue Continuum Shift (PS3/360: Messing around with Makoto.

Sengoku Basara 3 (PS3): So awesome.

Time for some SSF4.  It's been a few days...that's a big break for me!

uh, no.  I don't play boob games.

But you've been playing SRW.  :teehee

I rebought Warriors Orochi 2 for the third time :dur

Why not get Musou Orochi Z on PS3?  You get both games on the disc, plus the extra characters/dream levels (that the American PSP version of WO2 got) and more enemies present than any other version.

http://hoddans.com/tool/drsurvival/ is the tool I used for the 5 & 7 day survivor achievements. It shows when all the psychos and civilians spawn, what food is in each location, when people despawn, and it even has a timer for the food court glitch that crashes the game. It's awesome.

For the saint and transmissionary achievement, I'm 99% sure I used this guide: http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/928326-dead-rising/faqs/49257

Followed it all the way through to the true ending and I don't remember having any problems.

Yeah, but what I'm saying is that there should have been an achievement for doing some of the side missions. I just like it when they give incentive to do the extra stuff instead of just playing the story from start to finish.

Cant remember what we linked, but a lot of good 1000'ing discussion went on in the "why does dead rising 2 have to suck" thread. Somewhere around the middle. All the best FAQs were linked and me and icono gave our addendums to those. I remember my tips for the "Saint" cheev were kinda important, considering how narrow the FAQ is. There also some weird meta-shit to the Otis calls. But yeah that thread should be all you need. If I got Saint you sure as shit can get it. Its tough, but a fun challenge, really satisfying.

30 minutes that you'll never get back.

I like to play old games from time to time. By old I mean Ps2 games that I still have in my backlog.

I've been playing alot of Heroes of Newerth.  I don't think I've ever had such a love/hate relationship with such a game.  I pounded my fist on the keyboard when I died for the 4th time in a row, yet I felt like a million bucks when my team eventually won the game (with very little help from me :'()

the m:tg blue deck is a total pain in the ass to play against. i keep getting close but then have a string of really shitty draws that prevent me from getting any sort of traction in the mid game

argh.

so i go back to playing Oblivion

I'm finding that true as well.

I just started this

(Image removed from quote.)

PC Gaming :bow
:lol
That was 14 bucks at Walmart today; I thought about it, and honestly wondered if it was "a demi game." In the end, I passed on it. In the end, if I'm going to get into something space-combatty and complex, I'll use a PC.
