aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand done!
1000/1000
babysitting the game while monster smashed against the barriers like flies was the most boring achievement ever, and here's a shitty cellphone pic for all those people that go like "bububu what's the point if nobody can see your profile?"

buuuuuuuuut anyway
blue dragon, well i finished it and i 1000/1000 so it would be weird to call it bad,but blargh sometimes i feel i did this because i was affected by stockholm syndrome or something,it's nice to see toriyama artwork on an all powerfull HD console but i don't think it's a big step up from dragon quest 8,heck dragon quest 8 at least had a stable framerate!
the game itself can be sometimes a pain to play, fight with multiple monsters move at a snail pace which is maddening, you can skip fight trough using the barrier field and that's nice and all but being able to use the barrier field at will (that's it,at least having it at level 2 so you don't run out of MP only after 5 killed monster!) require you to grind the barrier class which is pretty dumb, most of the places you visit are just dull to look at and can be most summed as "CAVE with a lot of generic consumable loot" the final dungeons of disc 1 and disc 2 with all the multiple bosses were cool though
the job system in the game is pointless, personaly i don't hate job system but i don't like them very much either, they are grindy, most of the time deciding to pick one job instead of another can leads to lot of frustation (because for example the game told you that one of the skills of the tank class reduce damage but it didn't tell you how much damage it does reduce) and at the end of the day unless the job system is being all wizardry like you end up breaking the game when all your guys can tanks, hits for the damage cap multiple amount of times and generaly are being all god-like
but the job system here is barely there... there is the guy that hit stuff physical magicaly, the white mage, the black mage, the guy that hit stuff physicaly less magicaly and more physicaly, the thief,a bunch of uselessmagic mages and
A CLASS WHOSE WHOLE ROLE IS TO LET YOU EQUIP STUFF what the hell? i can't think of a class system more barebone than this... no wait, maybe dragon quest 3,dragon quest 3 is the only game i can think off that it's more barebone, there is really no reason to ever switch out of the default jobs as the huge stat bonus you get by sticking to a class are really more worth than most of the skills you can gain otherwise
the worst thing about the game it's the general plot and scenario, shu and his buddies are like the most generic cast to grace a rpg released in the last 5 years, like someone picked the character from some PSX era rpg and then hit them with the generic stick over and over and over and over like a crazied madman, they are unbearable to watch, now the villain there with the weirdo parrot and the sidekick robot, now that's cool! but he really doesn't get much screen time, most of the time the hero just stumble upon a town with some problem and then go "ooooohhhh that nene! he's so mean" (mean? what is he? a bully?)
some part of it are just dumb basicaly an
Idiot Plot there is this part where nobody can leave the town because an evil tree stop them and well that's already kinda stupid,i mean it's a tree, you can just burn them... but well okay, maybe being a demon tree means he can't catch fire and all and i can accept that... here's where it gets stupid
THE TOWN IS ON A CLIFF BY THE SEA!what the hell guys? there are no tree in the sea, just dig a tunnel, make an elevator, climb the cliff down!
seriously the whole game works because of
Idiot Plot and if i had to mention every single instance where it bothered me this whole wall of text would become huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge and it's already big enough
now some people could see this as nitpicking but for me,the actual scenario and plot is important and when i think this game come from the guy who's associated with games such as chrono trigger and final fantasy vii,my blood freeze! you would think that even to be close enough to games of such magnitude would at least give you the skill to write an average game but this one might as well be written by the famous 100-monkeys! it's not like it's the first game from mistwalker to suffer from this, lost odyssey makes me want to punch a kitten too, somehow i don't feel bad anymore that we don't get to play the last story
the idea of chaining encounters to make monster fight each other is a good one but it's barely used, one monster can only be fought if you trigger a monster fight, that's a cool idea and it would have been nice if the whole game was littered with more stuff like this but instead as you get near the end of the game there is barely any chance to trigger a monster fight and i don't really see why you would want to chain together normal battles... sure you get some bonus stat between each bout but... that's it!
it's nice to see them trying different tricks with each bosses but most of the time it just boils down to do what the game tells you to do ("the boss will heat if we hit him with fire spells! let's hit him with fire spells!") and ultimately it's not like they are strong enough to pose a threat if you don't do otherwise as the game orders
somehow i can't imagine a game like infinite undiscovery or star ocean 4 being worse than this, sure there might be huge amount of animuuu and dinner dances and stuff but i'm pretty sure that it's faster to play, there is more loot to find (as opposed to those lame bracelet you get to equip),it's prettier to look at and more importantly not everybody is completly distinguished mentally-challenged
