a lot more than there should be, sadly

if you want the game to hold up you should probably stop now

If you're not enjoying yourself, you should quit now. It doesn't get better, and I'd say it arguably takes a turn for the unwelcome and strange at the very end. I liked it when I was a jerk with no memory waking up next to the Rapture entrance. Once they start messing with my audio and FOV, I was less fond of its story.

Finally got over 100,000 counter in Futari BL Original (+ 711m clear)... god, the rank in that game scares the fucking shit out of me. The bullets get so god damn fast that you can barely see them as they zip by, and the penalty for a single death in this game is absolutely gigantic, so you're always on edge. Look at this shit

This guy is clearly inhuman.

edit: Yay, got 643m in BL Maniac now. I choked hard on Larsa (as usual), but whatever. At least I got into the top 10 with Palm.

as i said with 999 a plot doesn't get stupid when you inject more fantascientific element in it,it get stupid when you can start guess what the character spouts next

Just finished the single player mode of Spacemarine. Steam says 10 hours of game time.

You repeatedly QTE the end boss to death without a fight. Who thought that was a good idea?
spoiler (click to show/hide)
You slog through the horribly cliche last segment with the boss sitting behind an invulnerability shield, giving you a cookie cutter "join me" speech and throwing the occasional wave of goons at you that you only have fought, oh, roughly a trillion times by now. Then finally he decides it's time to squish you.... And blammo, only QTEs, and not just once, no, there's an all you can mash buffet of QTEs. Letdown central. I wanted to slice-n-dice that sucker, not watch my silly guy in blue armour lovingly embrace his gay lover over and over again.

The ending after the 'fight' is quite unsatisfying, too. Minimalistic presentation aside, it's Relics patented "leave everything open for 900 sequels" tactic again.  :-\

Fluff-wise it's terribly light on content, too, but then again... gotta keep my expectations realistic, right. It's a hack-n-slay game.

Joke's on them though, I really don't care about the characters enough to justify a full-price purchase of a sequel/expansion. Ha!   :P
[close]

Love is over, this game is officially not worth the money I pumped into it.

It's not bad, just kind of mediocre, methinks. Without the 40k label this would have never even registered on my radar.

Anyone else played the Red Johnson's Chronicles demo on the PS3? It's an awesome adventure game made for console generation meaning 3D graphics, 3D puzzles, hints you can buy for cash (can't get stuck) etc. But if you don't use et at all it's a really great adventure game where you are a Private Investiagator.

Pretty cool, I thought consoles in general don't get games like this.

There's a ton of adventure games on the Wii. Also, LA Noire, Sam and Max, Heavy Rain, Blue Toad Murder Files, Tales of Monkey Island, ect.

yeah, the PS1 one.  I'm going to get the DS one too eventually (comes out later this month in America).  From videos, the DS game is considerably less furry than Tail Concerto.

Tail Concerto's main unlockables are pictures of cat people with cleavage.

i'm afraid to tell you that solatorobo unlockable are picture of dog people with cleavage, and the dog people in question is also your sister :smug

anyway i'm done with bioshock 1000/1000 clean,i think it's the easiest 1000 i've ever got,i don't have much to say,i really liked the 60 vintage setting,like... liked it a lot but the rest of the game is just kinda underwhelming, there aren't a lot of enemies, there aren't a lot of weapons, the power are cool but you don't need to use them and you basicaly get a great total of 5? and the vita chamber just remove any sense of achievement out of it as you might as well play doom with a trainer on (though maybe it's better this way since i really suck at FPS) but i guess it beat the shit out of pressing F5 every 2 minute :teehee

i already knew the plot twist before playing the game (blame the usual TOP 5 BEST PLOT TWIST OF THE GENERATION features) it's clever but also kinda pointless, also i wanted to become hitler but that would have mean no 1000/1000 :(

Yeah, I think I got like 960/1000 in one playthrough of Bioshock.  Was just missing the "play on hard" achievement.

B1 was during those early days of LETS GIVE OUT POINTS TO EVERYONEEEEEEEE easy 1000s :P

Nowadays I get like 320/1000 for finishing a game.

wtf? BioShock was not. What kind of HARD OMG achievements did you want BioShock to have? I think it was one of the RARE games that actually has:

- Thought out achievements
- Reasonable achievements
- Stackable difficulty (not that there was one for easy)
- No bullshit

Got a 673m clear with Palm in BL Maniac now. Ranked #15 overall and #8 with Palm. I know I can get well over 700m, I just need that one miracle run where EVERYTHING goes as planned. In theory, I can make it up to Larsa without a single death, but I always wind up dying two or three times to something dumb. :-\

Tales of Xillia is interesting.  Battle system feels more like a Team Destiny battle system but with less tight focus and more spammy that you expect from the lesser Team Symphonia.  Graphics are solid, story/cast seems a bit underwhelming early on.  Not much music either.  Has big fields to run around and pick up a million collectables so magus will hate it.

is there an actual game in this collection of the most boring and deliberately slow paced cutscene ever put on a disk? seriously just look! it's almost worse than metroid other m,i counted how long it takes for the narrator to be done with his bullshit and it's 4 minute full of nothing,FOUR FUCKING MINUTES

also i seems to understand that the ps3 version of it has more stuff? that annoys me so much, though if it keeps this pace i'm quitting early and i guess that won't be a problem anymore :smug

The story and cutscenes only get worse the more you play. Pretty much every single battle in the game plays out exactly same too.

sad realizations looking through my gaming collection:

I own GTA4 for PS3, 360 and PC, and I don't even like the game.
I own MGS2 and MGS3 three times, and I'm buying the HD collection.  I have more copies of MGS1.

honestly didn't remember I had these, but two copies of Devil May Cry 1 (GH and regular), Wild Arms 5 (haven't played this), a dance dance revolution game for PS2 (never played this series).

Trade/Sell me that WA5, please.

It looks really pretty though and has a killer soundtrack (good sakuraba + gorgeous Chopin pieces).

The only good parts of the actual game are the Chopin piece stories.  Like the 1000year stories in Lost Odyssey.

The worst part of the game is everything else.  ESPECIALLY THE BONUS DUNGEON.

Still playing Star Ocean: The Last Hope. It's not that baa- bloody hell the cutscenes are incredibly long and too animu-ish for my tastes. I think this is one of the few games where I prefer skipping the cutscenes and reading the little synopsis the game gives you instead.

Yeah, that's what killed it for me. The cutscenes were never that great to begin with, but at the end of Alterna-Earth they just got HORRIBLE. I plodded along a little bit more, but realized that I hated almost every single character in the game and everything they did/said. Finally put it away and never touched it again.

Eternal Sonata is the single worst RPG I played this gen, J or W. Then again I haven't played Dragon Age 2 beyond the demo... ES looks nice, and learning the history of Chopin was cool (plus it had a cute little easter egg scene after the credit roll)... but the combat was so repetitive and easy, dungeon design was horrifically bland, and the story made no fucking sense at all (and I usually "get" Japanese storytelling).

Red Faction: Guerrilla. Fun game is still fun.
I liberated Badlands and Oasis in a single run, because they weren't giving me any more radio missions. This lead to the "liberation" of the Free Fire Zone.

So now I'm in EOS, I've got the jetpack and thermobaric rockets. It's almost a different game now that I can scale mountains with the jetpack, and bunker-bust buildings from the inside-out.

Volition knows how to make fun games, there can be no doubt about that, but with Saints Row 1&2 and RF:G, there is certainly a lack of consistency in their QA. I'd say Saints Row 2 takes the cake for bugs, but this one has evidenced a number too. The Free Fire Zone liberation mission had trucks driving from waypoint to waypoint, but most of them were going anything but the right direction. I'd almost believe this was intentional to create a sense of mayhem and possibly even to create obstacles for the player. However, it's more likely that the AI's turning and acceleration routines were not appropriate to the placement of single waypoints.

I am really enjoying this, but I am likely going to wander back to the other desolate wastelands game, Red Dead Redemption, now that they've got a new FREE DLC PACK out and a triple XP day to celebrate it.
