And you're saying this in regards to COD, a series that pushes wacky gun perspectives with pride? smh. The gun+knife thing is the most proper thing they have done so far.

I've seen some professional marksmen hold it like that.  I would think that it is so that the dominant hand's wrist doesn't have to support the weight of the gun, meaning he doesn't have to strain as much when there's recoil and can recenter the gun faster.

Or maybe it's just because it looks cooler and it's a videogame so it doesn't matter.

I don't know about MW2 but I do remember the AK-47 in COD4 having nearly no recoil when looking down the sights.  I mean, it's basically impossible in reality to shoot that gun on fully auto with any accuracy.

Afghan map walkthrough is available again, here

http://www.modernwarfare247.com/news/afghan-multiplayer-walkthrough

As for the grenade thing, I'm guessing they are making fun of the grenade spamming in the previous games. Hopefully that means it's really gone.

By the way, the snow really looks like shit in this game. Sacrifices for 60fps and blah, but it just doesn't look good.

well there's a lot of pretty scripted setpieces, I guess it gives the feeling of watching a "live action movie" (that's a really bad analogy actually).  about half the comments are just asking for him to try to rank up in multiplayer (he's mentioned multiple times that he only has one controller) and the other 1/4 are asking what gamestop to buy the game early at or if they could buy it from him.

Why are you people watching this? I don't get it.

I mean I watch speedruns of some games that I have already finished. But watching a full play-through of a game you intend to buy...

smh

I accidentally watched some, but I'm done. And after clicking Archies spoiler, stupidly thinking that it had to do with stoney's killstreak reveal, I'm out.

Not sure how I feel about that nuke. Unless it's an active martyrdom thing, it doesn't seem very reasonable.

On a related note, this game is basically Modern Wormsfare at this point. Add a holy hand grenade and some tactical sheep, and it would be spot on.

Personally I like all that stuff (although I hope they add a barebones playlist down the road also as I would like to play that also occasionally). Sort of reminds me of when Burnout was changing into what it became (Not speaking to Paradise but before that) when it use to just be a racing game and it instead became something else that was related to cars but not specifically about just racing. There are plenty of shooter games that go down a more traditional route to offer enough variance imo.

We'll see, I don't have your seemingly complete trust in Infinity Ward. Having three air support options is troubling enough, and now there are nukes. And they actively reward failure, which is just weird. Accessibility is nice, but at least on paper it looks like they crossed quite a few lines.

I don't have complete trust in any dev. For every FPS I've ever played I have a laundry list of complaints. What I do know is that I want more of what was in COD 4 and arguably that is what took the series from being a somewhat popular shooter to a mega popular shooter. I know people who say they never should have done what they did in COD 4 and wanted it to be like COD 1 when it comes to multiplayer. I have more trust in the devs that created a game I really like rather than random fretting that they didn't remake the popular edition of the shooter I was already playing.

So basically I'm saying I'm absolutely sure I'll have complaints. I always do. My complaints won't be that the game went even more in the direction of the COD 4 philosophy because that only makes sense since COD 4 was so popular. They will be specific to gameplay issues like any other game.

They work like this, this go around. It was posted on a forum a few months back.

Quote
The killstreaks stack and are saved. The stacking is what is called a LIFO (or FILO) queue. Last In, First Out.

So for example:

3: UAV
4: Care Package
5: Sentry Gun

You can earn all three without using any and the one shown on your DPAD would be the Sentry Gun. As soon as you used it you would see the Care Package on your DPAD. As soon as you used that it you'd see the UAV.

Followup question from somebody.

Quote:
Does is matter if you die? For example, if I used the Sentry Gun and died, would I still be able to use the Care Package, then UAV?

Stoney, the problem isn't so much change, but the kitchen sink approach. COD4 was, in my opinion, awesome in part because of it's relative simplicity. That's gone now for sure. And I personally think the idea of actively rewarding shitty players is pure poison. It will make it more accessible for sure so I doubt they will suffer, but my experience with the game most likely will. I don't trust them to keep it enjoyable for me.

My worries aren't a kitchen sink approach. My worries are the same gameplay balance issues that effect any shooter. Your position seems to be that there is so much added that it concerns you with the gameplay balance based on new mechanics and interactions. That's a fair position to take and it's probably a good natural positon to have. The game will definitely play differently than COD 4. I'm happy about that. After two years of COD 4. I'm ready for the next thing. I love the idea that people will have genuinely different layouts which is the exact progression path I wanted from COD 4.

The nice thing is that the game will be out in a relatively short time and the actual discussion will be able to be be based on actual gameplay rather than speculation or any of the other circus side issues that surround the release of any high profile game. I look forward to that discussion. I'm sure there are some things we will absolutely agree on and some things we will absolutely disagree on. That's why I love actual real game discussion and detest all the other stuff that isn't that.

It's still there, as a deathstreak. You know, the reward system for failure. Also, you can now control the choppers.  :-\

Well, I can always hope that there will be enough resistance to the changes that IW puts in some kind of barebones mode, without deathstreaks or killstreak crates. Fat chance, though. Campaign and co-op still looks nice, so there's always that. Aren't we due for a new Rainbow Six game soon?
