The cast is already old enough. I think the kids who plays Will is the youngest at 14. The others are all 16-17 and Steve is 27.

But at the rate they're growing up, they're gonna look 40 in 2 years anyway, so they can do a time skip.

WTF Netflix doesn't have all the Into the Badlands episodes, it stops midway through Season 3 and it ends on the biggest cliff hanger ever! Raging right now.

They did a similar thing with Black Sails over here. Had to finish the last season... elsewhere.

After a month or so they did add it, tho.

Black Sails is fantastic.

Back when it came out i dismissed it after 10 minutes of the first episode, because everyone looked like a playboy model, but a couple of years later i went back to it and was blown away by how good it was.
It honestly baffles me that it didn't get the attention of a Game Of Thrones, because it's so much better, and actually ends with a satisfying ending.

Plenty of violence, tits all over the place, and a lot of tension/cliff hangers, great battles and production values, but then it also manages to have some reasonably deep characters (well, for the genre) and make some thematically interesting points.
I would compare it to something like HBO's Rome, though i think this is actually a bit above it (and isn't rushed through like Rome was).

Cool. I dismissed it outright because Michael Bay was tied to it. Your description makes it sound real good, so I'll check it out. Not much around in terms of some good swashbuckling, and I was a big fan of Treasure Island growing up.

Yeah Black Sails is great and very underrated. One thing to keep in mind with the Pilot is that a) most of the characters are hiding something/fronting or b) they're going to change drastically by even season 2 because of circumstances. Not in a way that feels cheap either, just deeply personal character stuff. It's good.

Yes. Not as gratuitous but it's great. I think you would like it! The first season is only eight episodes and if you aren't all in by then it's not a big loss.

I know it's intentional, but the most over the top absurd aspect of Into the Badlands is how resilient the characters are to stab wounds and blunt physical trauma.

yeah it's weird. First two seasons I thought they were building MK to be the main character on his hero's journey, but then it increasingly got clear that Sonny is the hero and the show is about his hero's journey. M.K. stands for Monkey Kings, come on, he's supposed to be cool!

yep and it subverted certain expectations just enough to give you a nice surprise but no disappointing Lost-like b.s. Didn't love the cliffhanger, but I was pleasantly surprised that

Just finished S1 of Ash vs Evil Dead.

Bruce Campbell and Lucy Lawless are pretty much flawless, but far out, the pair behind Kelly and Pablo dish out the most cringe-worthy dialogue. I get that Ash needs companions that don't share his personality, but these two ain't it. Do they get any better?

Season 2 is a big jump in quality in my opinion (going more full-on comedy).
Season 3 was still fun, but not as good.

I'm sad they cancelled it though.

Damn, ep7 was fucked up.

Back half of the show is working better because all that slow paced first half setup with the cast makes the back half happenings more interesting.

Still there’s a funny bit where Nell Tiger Free’s friend looks at her and says “what’s wrong with you?” and you can literally say that to like every character in this show since none of them act like human beings and more like weird AI bots imitating human behavior.

Looks like DCU shows will simulcast on HBO Max. This is a Good Thing and I'm glad Warners isn't mothballing DCU to prop up Max.

Swamp Thing had me worried but it looks like it really might have just been a scheduling or tax credits issue.

Finished Refn's Too Old to Die Young

God, this show was trash. It picked up around ep4 or so and was at least interesting until ep8 and then nothing happens in the last 2 eps and people sit and read 5 minute long ridiculous Refn speeches stating his political and religious views. Can't believe I wasted 13 hours on this. At least the final ep was only 30 mins.

Finished season 3 of Money Heist.
They clearly have no idea what to do with these characters anymore, this was a copy cat of the first 2 seasons, but stupider, with forced. in couples therapy drama.

Last episode was a tiny bit of fun at least.
Hopefully season 4 picks up with some more interesting development.

Yes, it gets quite fun, but it also has plenty of lows throughout.
I found especially annoying how it just drops some plotlines for no reason.
Season 2 lost me tbh, but then Season 3 ended on a high note.

Anything related to Earth's politics is kind of shit in my opinion, the Belters stuff is fun.

The Boys actually looks better than the book to me, I like it being a slight bit more humorous/fun as the series was pretty stupidly rough at times as Ennis kept trying to top himself. I assume Karl Urban just ordered them to give him a second season already. Although he makes me like Butcher too much compared to the book.

This probably more than any comic adaption to date makes me curious simply by what they might actually adapt considering it's on Amazon and not even tied to any of the namebrand comic publishers.

Also, I can't believe they cast Simon Pegg just as a joke reference to the book.
