It would be as silly as asking Hideo Kojima to develop NBA 2k24 in Decima
People really underestimated the importance of what Kojima did, shopping around for suitable engines before diving head first into development and starting with a single platform.
It has allowed him to make 2 games within this generation.
Other studios that ship on schedule use their own tech (Capcom/Insomniac) or simply aim lower (Square Enix/Bandai Namco).
Microsoft should've handed Fable to Rare. Something like Sea of Thieves is much closer to Fable in terms of gameplay and structure than Forza and giving it a flat shaded stylized look as opposed to going for realism and using the Sea of Thieves engine would've cut development time. Now they have Rare doing Everwild, for which they still haven't figured out the gameplay and Playground Studios working on Fable, who have never made a third person action-adventure game before.
I think the 'biggest' game closest to completion is actually Perfect Dark from Crystal Dynamics because CD is developing it and not Microsoft.
This year is probably Red Fall/Forza/Starfield in the first half and with a little luck Perfect Dark in the fall.
