it's fucking 2010 and those little guy still have the same (let me check wikipedia...) 1996 animation they had in pokemon blue,you don't play it for challenge,your starter will steam-roll everything,even things he's not supposed to kill because he will be always X level higher than everything else,you don't play it for the setting and the story because... well it's fucking pokemon! you can't say it has a good battle system,as i said before you can steamroll everything and even if you didn't,unless you are bothering to play against another player,you don't need to know anything else except that water beats fire,fire beat grass,grass beats water,and wobuffet beats everything,did i mention that battles go at a molasses pacing? THERE IS A SANDSTORM,POKEMON 1 RECEIVE 1 DAMAGE,*hp bar slowly decrease*,POKEMON 2 RECEIVE 1 DAMAGE,
*hp bar slowly decrease again*,POKEMON USE LEFTOVER,*hp bar slowly increase*
there is no point to play it for the collection aspect,most pokemon will know the same attacks (or attacks very similiar to each other) so it's pointless to catch them all,the music is horrible horrible horrible
(exception: i give a pass to the original)
