I had one of those yesterday-- my Corporations class.  Multiple choice questions with several page long fact patterns leading up to them?  check.  Ambiguous wording?  Check.  No essay questions at all?  Check.  The best part is that our practice exam questions consisted of questions she threw out on past exams, so they were all shitty questions with debatable answers.  Half the review session was people pointing these out to her.  She then said you can get 10 wrong on a ~60 question test and still get an A in the class...what the fuck is that?   My only hope is that she worries about having too many low grades and passes all the people who scored terribly with a C. 

thankfully my remedies exam today went fucking awesome...i was in the most rotten mood after that corps exam and couldn't cram remedies at all.  All I could do was play SOTN and grumble.

Yeah, I only ever had maybe 3-4 multiple choice tests in the entirety of my undergrad, and they were cake.


Of course, this past February, I also wrote my RCMP Corporal's exam, which was 50 multiple choice questions.  And for a good third of the questions, the options were almost completely incomprehensible as to what the intended logic was supposed to be (which, truth be told, is typical of RCMP management *hey-o*) that I felt like "eenie-meanie-minie-mo"-ing it.  But whatever, I passed.

MC was always easy in undergrad.   In law school, you either have to make them starkly easy--"here's an instance where this rule clearly applies" -- and everyone will know the answer or could logic their way through it.  When they add nuance, you get a bunch of "pick the best answer" questions, which leaves thinkers in the dust, even if they know the material.

I think her picture from several years ago when she was in undergrad, along with other students, is up in a hallway in the school (not in the law building). It's hard to tell as they're in the background and there's a shit ton of text blocking them. Two things. I've walked past this thing a lot and never noticed her there before, and, damn, she used to be big boned.

So I wrote a scathing review of the Indian food place I went to earlier in the week. It turned out I got stomach poisoning from the fish. After writing the review I was contacted by a few people who had complained to management, and were not satisfied with how they handled the situation. After that I contacted our local food safety inspector and left a message describing in detail what I had and what others had had (we all had the same dish.) It was a seafood item and was probably contaminated or rotted by the sounds of others complaints.

Not even a few hours had passed since my review and the business had my post deleted from Yelp for being fake. So I contacted Yelp to find out what had happened to my review. I got a response this morning that they have suspended my account for further investigation. The restaurant has a relationship with Yelp and pay for advertisement (its how we found out about it.) And now they are covering up their tracks.

I got a phone call back from our local health department and they told me they were very concerned by the alarming amount of calls about this restaurant. He said if he found anything it would be reported and on public file so if myself or others wished to sue we would have some proof that there was something fishy going on. I also described their practices with Yelp and was told that is the norm nowadays.

Seriously I have to wonder why Yelp would risk its reputation with business' that could potentially kill people with their food.

I'm gonna stay away from having Indian food for a long time.

Just asked for a day extension for a paper worth 40%.  In the last 10 days I've had a paper, a project, 4 finals, and 7 grad applications, and got a paper touched up for submission to a publisher.  My whole last month as pretty much been like this.  Seriously how the fuck do people expect me to do all this shit.

I always spend way too much time on the first section of a law exam. In my defense, it had twice as many question, including a multi-part question, and a vague open-ended essay question that should be a Master's thesis.

Also pretty sure I fucked up a question because I applied the wrong contextual-factor test for "just cause" dismissal. I must've come across 2 dozen between employment law and labour law, including contextual tests for individual contextual factor (insert meme here).

"Now we must consider the economic consequences of the union member who assaulted a co-worker. Hmmm it seems that a violent and uneducated old man with few skills who showed no remorse for his acts is unemployable--union grievance awarded! Back to work he goes."

Now, time to represent the NHLPA. Step aside, Fehr.

Wait, I never seen that as being required on Kindle. And I've used 750x1200 before without any problems.

Wait, I never seen that as being required on Kindle. And I've used 750x1200 before without any problems.

Edit: The guideline is actually stated as a 1.6 ratio, which is a lot smaller than what you're talking about...

They have changed them since my first novel last year, apparently. It still looks fine on a Kindle screen, anyway. It used to be 500x1280 minimum.
