yeah, being contacted by a recruiter is not being offered a job, lulz. in general it's best to not stress too much over whether you fit the description 100% because:

(1) in my experience, companies often have only a vague idea what they want and what they're really looking for may have little resemblance to what they put on their job descriptions (especially if recruiters are involved)

(2) recruiters may have other positions they think you're better suited for

(3) having to learn on the job is a great opportunity to advance in your career (though it can be exhausting)

(4) job hunting is an iterative search process, every time you flub an interview you learn a little more about what the market's like an how you should present yourself, you can also be studying and refreshing your skills during the search process

that said, I dunno if I'd bother applying for a web job at someplace whose web stack is apparently a mix of Flash, VBScript, server-side includes, classic ASP, PHP and Access ... wtf.

When I was in Texas I didn't notice many mosquitoes, even when I went deep into wooded areas. I got bit a couple times but it didn't even itch, interestingly.

So the only thing my dad watches anymore is anime. He used to look at escort sites all the time, I think for a kick since he's an old dude not getting any action from his wife. Got to chat with Jonathon Blow and ask him some Qs about his feelings on game studies and theory. Listened to him, Chris Hecker and Alex Neuse(bit trip guy) talk about various things. I had to skip my senior project class for it which means I won't be reading to an audience Thursday, but eh. You give up some things to get others. If I had known ahead of time, I could have planned for it, but I only found out 10 minutes before their seminar started. I explained to my prof later and she gave me a vague "alright".

A wall of wind hit the house at 7:55PM EST. The way the tree in the back yard bent over made me very nervous. Then I was sent this shitty cell pic this morning:

This is about 3 miles from my house. We lost power from 8pm until 11:16PM. There are trees and power lines down all over. There is also a major Verizon fiber outage in New York state that is affecting our phone system here at work.

more than likely bullshit. graphic designers working in the government hit the ceiling of their gs levels the second they are hired. there are a few outliers probably.

Some crazy dude almost started some shot on the bus. He was about to get off but instead decided to plop himself down next to someone sitting in front of me. Luckily I was sitting on the outside seat due to having some stuff with me. He start spouting some nonsense and pushing the guy. It got pretty tense because he was fairly large dude and could fuck some shit up. The driver called the transit police and to my surprise they arrived in like less than a minute. ReAlly impressed at the response. They hauled him away and took all of.our statements. If you're wondering what I would have done if he had lost.his shit? Nothing. Battled epic malware all weekend, finally got the major shit killed. Last week my brother got the computer infected, and I basically just repaired Windows to fix it. But afterwards I forgot to redownload the various Windows updates, including SP3. A few days later the computer was hit with the worst malware shit I've ever seen. I was fearing I'd have to reformat because the Window repair trick wouldn't work again, but after hours of studying stuff on Major Geeks I managed to fix it.

I still had a google redirect virus after killing the big stuff, but it seems to have been fixed as well. Now I'm just downloading the rest of the Windows updates and chilling.

To top it all off, had a horrible day at work today. One of those days where you get into an argument with co-workers/boss over something, you're accused of being wrong, might get fired...then hours later they realize you were right and guess what: no apology from the boss, half handed apology from the co-worker.
