Anyone know a good FDIC insured online bank with decent interest? I've never really used anything other than the mainstream banks because I'm pretty risk averse and they always felt the safest banks to use, but everyone's telling me I should be moving my money to an online one with interest to make some money. I've never really looked into it though, so anyone here use any they'd recommend?

You should really only put about 6 months to a year of living funds in cash unless you’re truly so wealthy that you don’t need to worry about RoR for retirement. I kinda get your sentiment about your 401k but you gotta play both sides and hedge your bets. I have friends that put every damn penny into retirement and can’t go on vacation because “retirement!” Fuck that.
